Content until he broke her heart. Bitter, hurt and angry Jane did the college thing, came out of her shell, and never looked back. Grayson loves baseball. It was his pastime in high school, his passion in college, and now … his career. However baseball isn’t the only thing in Grayson’s heart. The problem is that Grayson has the reputation as a bad-boy. He likes fast cars and loose women and expensive liquor. All things that make him deplorable in Jane’s eyes, throw in his hot and cold attitude and she is ready to scream. When the promise of an exclusive interview brings a very reluctant Jane to Grayson’s home, she realizes that not everything is as it appears.

Editorial Reviews

Good Choice Reading - Wanda Morales
I really enjoyed this book. What I like most about it is how Jane wasn't one of those women that nag and cry about what he did to her. Instead she was a woman about it. She did what she had to do professionally and ended up getting what she wanted as a woman. Her happiness. Whatever Morgan Kearns puts in ink I will read. She's an author that captivates you the moment you open her book and begin reading. She has a fan for life with me. "In It To Win It" a definite Good Choice for Reading.

Miss Kearns thank you for showing us even a broken heart can be healed
with time. This beautifully written romance show with a little faith and
a lot of love and devotion there can be a happy ending for some. This
book was touching and romantic with just enough comedy to have a few
    laugh at loud moments.

In It To Win It, the second book in the Deadlines and Diamonds series left me breathless and wanting more.

KHB Sportscaster, Jane Alexander, is sent to follow the Rockets baseball teams journey through the post season playoffs and is reunited with her highschool beau, Grayson Pierce, the star player on the team. This is not a happy reunion for Jane as she relives the trauma of her highschool days and her perceived rejections. The interaction between main characters Grayson and Jane is electric.

Grayson's determination to win Jane's heart again is fraught with a little mystery, many trials and misunderstandings and there were times when I just wanted to scream at them both for being so obstinate. Ultimately, Grayson is the most heart melting hero I have read in a long time.

I found Jane to be a strong heroine, although she annoyed me on more than one occasion with her refusal to tell Grayson why she was trying so desperately to not become involved in his life again. But, hey, if she had done it my way it would not have been much of a story.

I enjoyed seeing characters from Fade To Black pop in and out of the story and in the end my heart melted and I could not wait to read the next book in this series.

Morgan Kearns is, in my opinion, a master at romance. This book had just the right amounts of intrigue, angst and romance to keep the reader in 'cannot put it down' mode.

Baseball is the new inn-thing! :) In It To Win It is the second

Baseball is the new inn-thing! :)

In It To Win It is the second book in the Deadlines & Diamonds series. It is also the fourth book I've read by Morgan!

After falling completely in love with Fade to Black, I wondered how In It To Win It would compare. Well let me tell you, In It To Win It is even better than Fade to Black. It's half the length of FtB but packs quite a punch!(Sorry, Rich. Sorry, Kate. I still love you both!) In It To Win It is the story of Grayson Pierce, the smoking hot, bad-boy baseball player, and Jane Alexander the "plain" sportscaster for KHB. The two share a past and things get pretty tense for a while and helps heat things up. The two of them have great chemistry!

I stand by the statement I made in my review for Fade to Black. Morgan really is the Queen of Contemporary. Once again the story excels with the characters she's created. I applaud for the wonderful character development. Each character is unique from all other characters. Not only that, but several of the characters from Fade to Black appear in Grayson's book! (Nate! <3) We also meet Xavier, Rockets Rookie and the star of book three, Out of Left Field. After the brief taste of him, I'm unbelievably excited to read it. And no, not just because of the Jimmy Thomas cover... Okay...Part of it is that cover. :)

There are so many sweet moments in this book. I nearly bawled like a baby in the end. The last chapter is gold! Where can I find a guy like Grayson? Lots of romance, humor, and suspense as well. The story line is so intense and intricate. There are lots of new factors playing out in this novel.

This series has quickly become an addiction. Definitely a favorite of mine! I'll be sad when I finish book 3 because then I'll have to wait for Santiago, book 4's man! I promise I'll be patient, Morgan! :) I'll be cheering you on from the bleachers!

Instead of voicing how much of a fool I was not to pick up these books sooner, I'm going to go start on book 3!

They say the sweet romance is making a comeback...

Kearns is a romantic and she knows her readers as well as what they want. This romance is one that pulls readers along through some unexpected twists and turns before she lets them go. If you like sweet romances, this one is a must.

    BRIEF SUMMARY
Jane knew Grayson most of her life, most of it throughout her awkward stages back in high school. She isn't too fond of seeing him again because of their past, but she needs to interview him for her job as a sportscaster. Grayson is the superstar baseball player bad boy. He plans to reconnect with Jane.

    THOUGHTS
If sweet and romance had a baby, this book would be the finished product. Personally, this book was so so so sweet and romantic that you wouldn't expect that from a sexy cover. When I read the product preview I already had an idea in my head what the story will be, but it definitely took an exciting turn that I enjoyed. Grayson is officially in my top 10 romance book hunks. He was so vulnerable that it made him seem sexy. Jane was enjoyable to read, she had some high and low emotions that drove Grayson a little crazy at times. The first chapter definitely gets your attention; thereafter, their progress throughout the book was that of a cat and mouse game because of an unfinished past. The second half of the book definitely had an interesting twist with a demented character, this added to the excitement of the read. There were so many lovable characters that the author gave us that you can't help but fall in love with them; Nate, Grayson's mom and a few more. However, Xavier, what a nice piece of raw meat, he is Grayson's teammate and needs his own story A.S.A.P.

I have so my favorite moments that I wish I could list, but if I listed them all I would be giving too much of the story away. I almost cry at one of my favorite it was so sweet. I always say it and I'm saying it again, romances of old high school crushes that reunites never gets old I love them.

    Storyline: GOOD
    Enjoyment: GOOD

    a must read

In It To Win It by Morgan Kearns
Wow what a great read! I like baseball and teaming that up with a woman sports reporter was a sure thing. But there are so many things that happen to prevent it from just happening naturally.
Love the escape to the big house, the farm animal scenes and the ride on the horses. I just fell in love with these scenes as I was fearing the book was more about baseball than anything else.
Love things the characters did along the way and the mystery that came to the forefront.
And that some of this happened at Christmas made it a treasure in itself. The family things that occurred then reminded me of my own family gatherings and celebrations. How simple a thing, just an unbreakable bulb for the tree turned this story into
    something to treasure.
The Characters really stepped up to the plate. Love how the lives intertwined with just a handful of others. Very easy to keep track of who is who and their traits.
I rate this book a 5 and will move the author to my list of those that will not disappoint in telling their tales, and you know , no matter what the picture is on the cover or the name of the book or what it's about, that the book from this author is a must have.

    A great read...

Another great book by Morgan Kearns! She is so good at pulling you into the story and bringing the characters to life. Grayson and Jane's love story is so real that you have to wonder if she is writing about her own love story? Well written and full of warm fuzzies, laughs, tears and a VERY happy ending.

Review Of In It To Win It By Morgan Kearns

I spent my 4th of July curled up with Grayson Pierce. That was the BEST 4th of July I have had with a book in a real long time. Morgan Kearns never ceases to amaze me with her incredible story telling skills. I love the fact that Grayson and Jane's story is so relatable. What they went through any one of us could have gone through and I liked that. It makes you feel connected/invested to their story. I also loved the fact that we got to see some old friends from KHB (Fade To Black). Jane is a sports caster that wants to prove that she is a great journalist and Grayson is a baseball player out to win The World Series. Neither ever thought they would see each other again, never mind embarking on a whirlwind news story. Jane sees it as an opportunity to cover a big story (even if it isn't the story she wants to be covering) and Grayson sees it as the opportunity of a life time (a second chance if you will), I just couldn't put this book down. Grayson is such a HOT character it is hard to choose between him and Rich Spencer from Fade To Black. On a scale from 1-10 I give this book a gigantic 10. Morgan you now have a devoted fan for life. Your books just get better and better. If you are a fan of Baseball, true love, love conquering all, and second chances you NEED to read this book. If you LOVED Fade To Black you need to pick up In It To Win It. If you haven't read either pick them both up and be prepared to be AMAZED, in my opinion.

    Another great one from Morgan!

How often do you get to text the author of a book the day you get it in the mail. signed by her? Not too often for me, but in this case I got to do just that. I am so honored to consider Morgan one of my great friends and promise not to have too much bias in this review. maybe!

I think that we can all relate to being someone who feels looked over by the hot guy. Jane Alexander experiences the same thing only hers comes back to face her high school problems when she least expects it. She has recreated herself and avoided Grayson Pierce up until now, but it seems that fate has something else in mind for Jane. Grayson seems to be your typical self-obsessed jock yet Jane can see a different side of him and yearns to let everyone else see that. Every time she sees a redeeming quality within him, he does something to shoot it down and remind her why she has avoided him all these years.

The plot, characters, twists and turns and especially the romance are sure to keep you turning page after page until you get to the end and are dying for more. In Morgan's second novel you are left with a great sense of who the characters are and feel as if they are your long lost friends just as you did with her debut novel Fade to Black. Another great read!!

I really enjoyed book! It was my first from this author, but it won’t be my last! There was a twist that caught me off guard, but it made the story between Grayson and Jane more exciting. Good job, Ms. Kearns!

    Pure Fiction

While I liked this book a lot there were a number of plot lines that were far from believable... I don't want to give anything away but I would recommend you read it and see if you can believe what became the main part of the story... Good writing, good characters and I have purchased and will read the other books in the series... But, wow, I did not see it coming in this one... Could happen??? I don't think so... Read and enjoy!
