Camille Anderson always lived life on the straight and narrow- she never took a chance in life, especially with her best friend, Trevor Williams. The two were next door neighbors and experienced almost everything together. Although the two told each other everything, there was one thing Camille never admitted to Trevor and that was her feelings for him.

After being out of state for a job position, Trevor returns to Houston with a new fianc. He always looked at Camille as just his best friend, but at his engagement party, he starts to look at her in a different light, making him wonder if he is marrying the right woman.

With a string of events involving the pair, as well as loyal friends dishing out romance advice, the two realize that being more than friends may not be such a bad idea. In fact, it could be what they needed all along.

I am not a fan of triangles where the man is in the middle, because it makes him look pathetic and passive-aggressive, and rightfully so. Trevor nearly destroyed two women's lives. He would have lost his best friend, and been married to a woman who have grown to hate him more and more every day. With that said, this is classified pre-adult read, even though the characters are in their 30's.

Typical best friend to lover story In Love With My Best Friend, by Sheena Binkley, is a typical best friend to lover story. Trevor and Camille have been friends for seventeen years, since the day his family moved next door to hers. They have been best friends through high school, college and beyond. Trevor is engaged to marry Chelsea, whom he met when she was Camille’s college roommate. I say this story is a typical friend to lover story because as best friends Trevor and Camille talked about everything, except their feelings for each other out of fear of hurting the friendship. What made this story troubling was the fact that apparently everyone, including the bride to be, knew of the love, beyond friendship, that Trevor and Camille had for each other. If you are engaged to be married and know your fiancé is in love with someone else why would you want to go through with the wedding? The author rationalized it by showing that Chelsea thought that after the wedding she could force an end to the friendship. While I did not dislike this story, it was not exactly my style of book. I enjoy a troubled, main female character, if she has a real reason to be troubled, not just because she is a wimp. I was even more troubled by the fact that Trevor admitted that he loved Camille and planned to still go through with the wedding. A real man would have never done that. My favorite character was Camille’s’ mother. So as not to write a spoiler I will not tell why. When you read the book you will understand. I do want to read the next installment to see how the author pairs up Charles and Tia. They are both strong characters in this story and seemed to have many facets to their personalities that can come out in their own book. -Reviewed by Selina
