This was an exceptional read in the genre of horror from a creative writer of sci-fi and fantasy. The characters were frightening but at the same time human. The scenes were described in clear and horrific form enough to frighten this reader. The story was intriguing and I found myself drawn into it and caring for the main character. This is an excellent read for horror fans out there but beware you will be disappointed when it is over since it is a novella. It will leave you wanting more! You will be hooked and become a fan of talented Steven Smy!
This story demonstrates the skill and range of this author's imagination and writings - from fantasy to science fiction and, in this case, the supernatural in the shape of vampires, but from a more sympathetic point of view than most writers of the genre. Excellent read.
