I'm a Sherrilyn Kenyon fan so this book was a must for me. It has three stories in it. The first one "Fire and Ice' goes with her League series. It's the story of Adron, the son of Nykyrian and Kiara from Born of Ice. Adron is the tortured hero who lives in pain from injuries he suffered saving innocent lives. A loner, he drinks away his days and keeps everyone at a distance. Livia is the damsel in distress being forced into an arranged marriage. Livia decides at least one decision will be her own. She will choose the man she gives her virginity to and maybe foil her father's plans for her in the process. They meet at The Golden Crona and Livia decides Adron is the only candidate worth the running. Adron is reluctant but captivated by her innocence. Sparks fly until Livia's angry daddy shows up. Adron grasps the situation and just how much trouble Livia has gotten herself into. So he marries her himself but has no intention of letting her close to his heart. What kind of husband can he be to her when he lives in constant pain. A stay in the hospital after a night of outstanding lovemaking is kind of off putting. Of course Livia is not put off so easily and sets out to heal his injured heart and win it for herself. She has been disowned by her father and can never see her family again. She can see the man he can be once again. So she brushes of his angry defensive gestures and wins his heart. They don't have a normal sex life but so what? They are in love. Then Adron has to go and get in a fight with his brother and pushes him so far he forgets his injuries and bam brother socks him in the chest. OH NO! Adron's body can't take that. He's dying. Livia can save him but she might die in the process. Her healing powers could make her a vegetable. It happened to her grandmother and is her worst fear. She couldn't have a life without Adron though and he deserves a happy life after all he sacrificed. So she heals him while saying her goodbyes. So sad. Adron wakes a completely healed man but wait..what's wrong with Livia. She's everything to him. He can't loose her! EMTs take Livia to the hospital while Adron goes to break down her daddy's door if need be. Livia needs help and he's going to find it. Daddy refuses and has him thrown out but he gets a message to her mother. Adron returns to the hospital. She gave her life for his. She is living her worst fear lying there a vegetable. He can't turn off the machines though. He can't give up. He needs her. So he sits holding her hand when in walks Livia's mom. She heals Livia and scolds her not to ever do that again. Her human half can't take it. Happy happy joy joy! Everyones alive and they can finally get busy without a trip to the hospital. Nykyrian and Kiara and Adron's siblings pop up in this story and are very supportive to Livia. I liked getting a glimpse of them after reading Born of Night. It was a great little story and one I'm sure I'll read again. The next story isn't related to any other series she has written. It's called "knightly Dreams". It's quirky and fun. A story about Taryn who has just caught her boyfriend in the throes with a coworker. Having the worst possible day her car brakes down too. She decides to check out the bookstore across the street while waiting on a tow. Where a very special book awaits that needs an ending. An ending she must determine. The third story in the book "Dragonswan" goes with her Were-Hunter series and I'm out of charact

I bought this book to read Adron's story in Fire & Ice and while I loved the 100 pages I really felt cheated. There were so many things about this story that needed expanding and explaining especially if you've read the other League Series books. Ms. Kenyon admits writing a complete novel but for some reason decided to publish a novella instead. Please, please reconsider your decision. If Devyn got his own book then Adron should have one too! I had already read the Dragonswan story which I enjoyed and Knightly Dreams was very original and a fun read.

This was a great Kenyon collection, I wanted to read this when I finished all the dark-hunter novels but when I saw it had a short story from the league I read those first and I am glad I did, you dont need to but I think I understood Adron's character better having a bit of history on his and his family. You dont need much history on Sebastian for Dragonswan, honestly if you haven't read the dark-hunter books his character in them is extremely reclusive and you dont see him much anyway. Great read and I gave it 5 stars for a book of shorts it was more than I expected. Another great Kenyon!

I only read the first story. The one about Adron. I love this series. Love, love. I wish Adron had been given a full book instead of less than 100 pages. Any fans of the League series needs to read this short. Unfortunately you have to buy the whole book to get it. I guess I'll give the other shorts a try. Hopefully they will be just as good.

~Reviewed by SUZANNE & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog This is a great Anthology from Sherrilyn Kenyon, I enjoyed every story and is a must have for all her fans! ~ Under the Covers Fire & Ice 5 Feathers Of all SK’s series her League series is my absolute favourite and I have loved each book so far and this novella was no different. With her trademark tortured hero, Adron who who was viciously tortured after selflessly sacrificing himself for a pregnant woman he didn’t know is now badly scarred and bitter his every movement an agony. Livia has had a sheltered life, but is determined to break free before she is forced to wed a man 60 years her senior. To do this she must lose her virginity so that her betrothed will no longer have her, and so that is what she intends to do, even if they kill her for it, and Adron seems just the man to help her out. This was a great story I loved it, it had all the aspects of SK’s writing which I love to moan about but still read; the soul deep romance; the tortured hero; the melodramatic writing, I lap that stuff up! Another aspect I liked is the family interaction, seeing all Adron’s brothers and sister tease him and each other showing how much they love him was both funny and sweet. This is definitely story I would reread (and have done!) Knightly Dreams 3 Feathers Of the three novellas this is the one I enjoyed the least. It was still fun and romantic, but I didn’t really connect with either of the characters, that might be because it was so short, but it was still a (very) quick amusing read. Dragonswan 4 Feathers This one was actually a reread for me as I have the ebook on my computer, I think this may actually be the first SK book I ever read. After rereading it I can see why I went on a major SK reading binge afterwards. It was romantic with a bit of action some steamy scenes and of course the requisite hot and tortured hero. I really enjoyed reading this again and I am glad I have it in paperback form as well as on my computer as I am certain I will want to read it again.

Let me just say, that I'm not really a big fan of anthologies. I see them a lot like eating potato chips when you're starving. They're okay while you're eating them but they leave you feeling wanting at the end. Because of this, I almost did not buy this book but, having heard good things about Dragonswan and wanting to see what happens with Adron, I decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised. "Fire & Ice" from the League series, is great and I really hope that Sherrilyn gets to write it out as a full story as she first wished to. The second story, "Knightly Dreams" is an absolutely adorable stand alone. As a writer myself, I couldn't help but laugh by the end. And finally, "Dragonswan" from the Dark-Hunters series. This is the series that got me hooked on Sherrilyn's work. This is probably the best Anthology she's written for it in my opinion.
