Overview

Thinking he is rescuing a hitchhiker from the rain on a desolate road, Cody stops to offer assistance. When he starts to question the lady-in-distress she breaks into tears, melting his gallant heart. Learning that she does not have a destination, he invites her to stay at his house, never imagining that she might accept, but she does.

His mystery lady, Kim, doesn't reveal much about herself, and soon disappears within a few days leaving only a handwritten thank you note.

Soon after the FBI arrives and searches his house, and Cody finds himself under house arrest. He soon learns that others are searching for Kim, and all suspect that Cody is heavily involved, and knows more than he admits.

Using his computer skills to search for Kim, Cody places himself squarely in the middle of a vicious struggle between the FBI and several ruthless groups of bad guys. Is Cody in over his head?

It kept me up until the wee hours, as I couldn't find a good stopping place! It is action filled, fun, realistic characters, and quite intriguing. I'm looking for more of the same as I hope more books follow quickly. It demonstrates that graphic language isn't necessary to be entertaining.

I would consider myself a credible reader, as I have been reading mysteries all my life, from Nancy Drew to Agatha Christie to Nero Wolfe. I approach new authors with hesitancy but this one came highly recommended so I gave it a shot. Now all I can say is, 'When is the next book coming out?!' Mr. Hillhouse, Excellent Work!

Just finished reading 'In Over Your Head', by Larry Hillhouse. Great reading. Could not put it down, and I'm looking forward to more of his books. Seems he's a great new mystery author with a potential for fame! This book would make a wonderful movie, and I highly recommend it for all mystery lovers.

I have read In Over Your Head several times and found it quite enjoyable, though less suspenseful each time. Of course, I am not a credible critic, as I am the author of the book. What I would like to do is invite any of you credible readers of the book to e-mail me and let me know what you think concerning the novel. Send any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. to me at 'codyj@dfw.com' and you could wind up influencing some of the future books in this series, as Cody will continue to find adventures as he travels around the country.
