Overview

Author Lynn McPhelimy's inspiration to write "In the Checklist of Life" came from her parents, Ellyn and Joe, who eagerly talked with her as they faced the cancers that, in time, took their lives. This "Working Book to Help You Live and Leave This Life" is a friendly, non-threatening place to record the practical aspects of our lives: the numbers, the bank accounts and the insurance policies; plus the details of our material lives, a list of our stuff and the special stories behind it; then there are the memories... Remember when...? and Have I ever told you...?, and, for Lynn, there was the map her father drew to the septic tank so that, when he was gone, she wouldn't have to dig up the garden looking for it.

"In the Checklist of Life" is a gift of enormous significance to a loved one-- a document of one's innermost thoughts on the life they've lived and their wishes for their departure. It is not a funeral planning book. It is rather, and more importantly, a comprehensive life planning book, "a baby book in reverse."

"In the Checklist of Life" is for people with aging parents, for senior citizens, for people who want to give their families peace of mind, and for people who simply want their lives in order. It's for professionals: hospice and Alzheimer's counselors, family therapists, grief counselors, lawyers, accountants, and clergymen. It's for anyone who has lost a loved one.

If you think about it: We plan our daily lives. We plan our careers. We plan our vacations months ahead. We plan our retirement. But we stop there, and leave our loved ones to suffer for our lack of-- or our aversion to-- planning to leave this life.

""In the Checklist of Life" is a wonderful book. Its simplicity reaches to the center of our deepest anxieties, not fear of dying, but of leaving this life without putting it in order. It is a treasure for anyone who has loved ones, anyone who has worried about 'what would happen if...'" --C. Sosnowski, M.F.T., C.P.P.

'In the Checklist of Life' is a MUST have for EVERYONE! It addresses pertinent information that most of us wouldn't think of leaving behind for our loved ones. It¿s a perfect guide that contains information (you provide) pertaining to property deeds, bank accounts, etc. It also addresses detailed instructions explaining the necessary tasks for taking care of everything you've ever owned, home(s), vehicle(s) etc. More importantly, it provides you with a peace of mind knowing that any young children you have, will continue to be cared for in the manner they are accustomed to, even after you're gone. For example, their like's, dislikes, bedtime rituals, favorite foods, fears etc. It even addresses necessary information to help others take care of your pets. The latter part of the book eases you into making detailed preparations for 'The Big Day,' (arranging your funeral) i.e., writing your own eulogy, obituary, selecting everything from the clothing you want to be buried in, to the song(s) you want played at your funeral etc. YOU have the opportunity to make life easier for the loved ones you¿ve left behind. At the time of your death your family will not have to worry or stress about what funeral arrangements to make, nor will they have to try and second guess what you ¿would¿ have preferred. And, long after your funeral your family will know exactly how to tend to, or care for anyone or anything that was cherished by YOU. Simplify the lives of loved ones you¿ll leave behind.......Buy ¿In The Checklist of Life¿ so your family will have peace of mind knowing they¿ve been able to carry out YOUR last wishes.
