The truth could cost her everything....

Olivia Mott didn't intend to lie. Somehow, it just happened. And wasn't it all Lady Charlotte's fault anyway?

Now Olivia's position as assistant chef at Pullman's elegant Hotel Florence is dependant upon her keeping her secrets. And sometimes lies have a way of leading to other lies. Should Olivia admit her real past and accept the consequences or keep quiet in order to preserve her comfortable new circumstances?

Deception seems to be part of everyday life in the company town of Pullman, Illinois, where the grand Pullman Palace Car is manufactured. Samuel Howard, Olivia's friend and the town manager, seems to think everything is fine, but Olivia observes something quite different. Could it be that Olivia is not the only one harboring secrets?

Romantic Times
Award-winning author Miller doesn't fail to bring together a story of history, consequences, love and loss in the first of the POSTCARDS FROM PULLMAN series. Readers will identify with Olivia's short-comings and her attempts to untangle herself from poor decisions. Although the pace drifts at times, the author's ability to create surprising twists will hold readers' avid attention. This story also has a satisfying ending that will leave you wanting more.

Surprising twists and turns kept this reader turning pages; anxious to uncover Lady Charlotte's secrets, and wondering when Olivia will be caught up in her deceit. I was easily able to identify with Olivia's struggle to maintain her credibility, while being drawn into Charlotte's schemes.... Judith Miller has a knack for historical realism; drawing the reader into days gone by and the company town of Pullman, Illinois with it's contribution in our nation's railway history. A fine addition to the Inspirational, as well as Historical genre, In the Company of Secrets is a nice way to spend an afternoon.

The first in the Postcards From Pullman series, In the Company of Secrets takes readers back to 1892 and gives a grand picture of what life was like then. Olivia struggles to fend for herself and finds herself in over her head on more than one occasion.

Readers who enjoy historical Christian fiction will find this book charming.... I highly recommend this book, but warn readers to be prepared to buy the next book in the series as well.

While I knew of the famous Pullman cars, I didn't know much about the town of Pullman. Judith Miller whetted my interest to learn more about this fascinating period of our history. Oliva is a spunky heroine, facing the formidable task of keeping Lady Charlotte in line, while juggling the attentions of two determined suitors. This is book one if Judith Miller's series about the citizens of Pullman. I can't wait until I get to read the next one.

What People are saying about this

Patsy Glans
"This was a charming story. Nothing seems to be the way it is, people are not the way they appear. There are layers and layers of storyline to pull apart and determine what is true and what isn't true. It also leaves unanswered questions, which this reviewer hopes are answered in the next book. Judith Miller is a most talented author. This is the first book in her new series, Postcards from Pullman. Don't miss this book."-(Patsy Glans, roadtoromance.ca)
