It began as their dream home . . .
but soon became their worst nightmare . . .
Len and Olivia Bowden had been seeking the ideal home in which to raise their daughter, Kennedy. The classic Victorian in a historic Atlanta neighborhood had everything they were looking for: lots of room in which to grow, friendly neighbors, and best of all, a bargain price, the result of a bank foreclosure. Hardly able to believe their good fortune, they move in and begin making plans for a promising future.
Then the stranger arrives at their front door. An elderly man, strong and imposing in spite of his age, he claims that a con artist deceived him in a mortgage deal, leading to the foreclosure on the house into which they've moved. He asserts that the property still rightfully belongs to him--and he demands that they move out within three days. Or else.
When they refuse to give in to his demands, they are confident the incident will blow over, and they take reassurance in their legal rights to the home. But the disturbing confrontation with the old man is only the beginning . . .
Doors open and shut on their own. Footsteps creak across the old floors. And young Kennedy is convinced that she sees monsters lurking in the shadows . . .
As the incidents worsen, they realize that their very lives depend upon finding out what's really going on. But once they finally discover the shocking truth about the old house and its mysterious former resident, it may already be too late.
A gripping thriller that deftly explores the supernatural invading the lives of an ordinary family, IN THE DARK is Brandon Massey at his riveting best.

I am a huge Brandon Massey fan. I like his writing style because I can relate to his characters. I was not disappointed with his latest creation. In The Dark will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will be next. The characters in this novel are real and their reactions to the weirdness were what you or I would do. I did wish to know more about the creepy old man, but overall this story is enjoyable.
This is my first novel I have read by Brandon Massey, and now, he forever has a new fan. I fell in love with his style of writing. He is a perfect writer at word play and descriptive reality. Great old school voodoo supernatural haunts within this book. A very descriptive, chilling horror. I recommend this book for lover's of supernatural/horror fiction. I enjoyed how the author captured in vivid detail, everything happening during the ordeal of the horror. I feel the characters where fleshed out in word play and the reader is given a sense of dread, fear and most of all, the will to survive. The reader, who is reading, is given, the feeling, to face the horror, that is taking place. Massey is a great descriptive writer, at times a little too much, because it gets to be just filler, to make the book longer. The book could have easily been chopped by 5 to 10 pages, and that is why it does not get a 4 out of 5 rating, I felt the book lingered much at times. Even with the length flaw, I felt the book was very entertaining and spooky and had an old school sense of H.P. Lovecraft reality. The Lovecraft reality came in with the final showdown which was a huge plus, that left lingering emotions in the reader, or at least this reader. Would I Return: I think I would in the future? It was a fun, spooky, twisted read, that reminded me of old-school horror stories, told around a camp fire and gave me the sense of H.P. Lovecraft in describing its conclusion. I enjoyed the overall twisted story of ghost like and creature plot. Loved it and I think fans of this nature will like also. Would I Recommend: For the lover of haunted houses, horror stories, and descriptive reality, "absolutely". It is available in Paperback, and also on Kindle and Nook. Book Length: 264 How I Read It: Nook Four Words: Haunting, fearful, spooky, old school.
I couldnt put this book down. It was so full of mystery and suspense.

Brandon Massey has done it again, the story takes place in Atlanta GA it involes a young couple who have a daughter they just bought a new house but the house was cursed by a Haitian voodoo preist. This story has lots if twists and unexpected turns, it's entertaining from begining to end.
I enjoyed reading In The Dark, it was a fast paced read, I could not put it down. It had a few little twists that I didn't see coming. Mr. Massey has scored another winner in my opinion.Pick this one up, you won't be disappointed!
GREAT BOOK. HARD TO PUT DOWN.
This book was another great one by Brandon Massey. It revolves around a family that purchased a home and the previous owner wants it back. The owner has vodo powers and his mission is to get the family out of his home. This book is spell binding and you can't wait to get to the end to see how the family gets out of this situation. I highly recommend this book. It's a very good read.
