Everything about the mission

Overview

Allan Thompson arrives in Waco, Texas for a mission of utmost importance--protect a terrorist's mistress from being the next victim on his hit list. But when the mission goes down wrong, Jenny Brant is nearly killed and Allan begins a new mission--protect her at all costs--as her faux husband until she can regain her memories.

Everything about the mission seems wrong--all starting with one Jenny Brant who doesn't fit the profile of the kind of woman Wilson usually hooks up with. Allan and his team must protect her, but at what cost to his own sanity or his heart?

Jenny Brant begins to regain her memories, but when she learns she has a huge inheritance that Wilson wants by marrying her, and the agent Allan Thompson will marry her instead to secret her money away with the Agency's protection, she still can't remember why she would have been a killer's main squeeze. When Wilson's thugs try to return her to him, she becomes less sure of who the good guys are and who she truly is.

The only thing she knows for certain--if someone doesn't take down Wilson, her life is forfeit.

I'd recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good spy thriller laced with hot sex!  ***THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE AUDIO VERSION OF IN THE DEAD OF THE NIGHT*** I've been thinking of Secret Agent Man, an oldies song by Johnny Rivers ever since I started listening to this book. The song opens thus: "There's a man who leads a life of danger To everyone he meets he stays a stranger With every move he makes another chance he takes Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow" I loved that song and I thoroughly enjoyed Terry's foray into the world of espionage in this story! In the Dead of the Night opens with a stake-out that Allan Thompson, our hero, is leading at the residence of Jenny Brant, our heroine. Jenny is dating a ladies' man, who is actually a vicious terrorist, a key player in funding international terror groups. This same terrorist has left an heinous trail of dead bodies. No woman who has ever been involved with him has survived to tell the tale and Allan is determined to put an end to this thug's reign of terror now.  There's not a dull moment in this book! The characters shine in their roles and I enjoyed hearing the camaraderie, bantering and dialogue between the agents and with Jenny as the action moved back and forth between gripping suspense, attacks, and juicy romance! I got the chills listening to the terrorist and, oh my, the sex scenes were scorching! Allan was James Bond personified and Jenny was feisty and confused. The twist at the end was a whammy surprise! I'd recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good spy thriller laced with hot sex!  Very good! 4 stars!
