Overview

Here is a fresh and perceptive look at Muhammad, capturing a life that was often eventful, gripping, and highly charged. Noted Muslim scholar Tariq Ramadan provides both an intimate portrait of a man who was shy and kind but determined, as well as a dramatic chronicle of a leader who launched a great religion and inspired a vast empire. The book underscores the significance of the Prophet's example for some of today's most controversial issues, such as the treatment of the poor, the role of women, Islamic criminal punishments, war, racism, and relations with other religions. Selecting facts and stories from which we can draw a profound and vivid spiritual picture, the author asks how the Prophet's life can remain-or become again-an example, a model, and an inspiration, and how Muslims can move from formalism-fixation on ritual-toward a committed spiritual and social presence.

The proof of Muhammad can be obtained by reading the Qur'an since it was sent down to him and it's the "true" word of God. Start with reading Surah 19 "Maryam" to see what God say about Mary and Jesus. Have you questioned why would God have a son? and if God has a son why was it Jesus and not you or I? The Qur'an names numerous prophets of Allah, twenty-two from the Jewish Scriptures, including Adam, Enoch, Methusaleh, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, Elijah, Elisha, and Jonah and three from the New Testament, Zechariah, John the Baptist, and Jesus.  We have to seek the truth through research, reading and an open mind/heart. Questioning if there is a God or prophets are valid questions, but what are we doing to find the answers.
