In the heart of Najd and Hijaz
This book deals with the details of a long, arduous journey undertaken by the author to the Arabian Peninsula after that development that included this country from its lowest reaches to its furthest reaches. The journey began by traveling from Cairo to Palestine, and from there to Najd and the Hijazi lands, penetrating the heart of the desert on the backs of camels. The author says: Because I had never had the experience of riding in the desert, nor did I know anything about the means of transportation and living in those wastelands. The journey in the desert began by renting a car that took me from Amman, the capital of Transjordan. It traveled approximately four hundred kilometers in the heart of the desert, spending an entire day traveling it. On the way, I saw nothing but barren land with no crops or udders, except for caravans of camels moving from here to there. The car driver told me that this road was previously one of the most dangerous roads for travelers, as there were some thieves and bandits... I took a road that no one other than foreigners from that country had traveled until now, so what I wanted was accomplished for me in terms of correct reconnaissance and hitting the intended target. .
