Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
What gross things lurk in the pipes of the bathroom and the kitchen? The reader will soon find out as Andrew and his cousin Judy continue their adventure when they get flushed down the toilet. Andrew invented a shrinking machine to study ants. However, he had an accident and shrunk himself, Judy, and his robot Thudd. They were just flushed down the toilet by Judy's neighbor Mrs. Scuttle. Luckily, they are in the rubber "Umbubble" Andrew invented that keeps them safe. They encounter gooey, squishy, and slimy substances while in the pipes. They find their way out of the pipes to the kitchen only to have to fight off a cockroach and try not to be eaten by Mrs. Scuttle. Thudd keeps readers entertained by his silly jokes and his knowledge of bugs and substances. Teachers will find this book an amusing way to teach children about bugs, food, and places not usually explored by children. 2002, Random House,
