Eli Novak, lion-shifter and Secretary of Ariel Estates has never been more fulfilled. Or more torn and confused in his life. No male has ever heated his blood or crept into his dreams before. Well, except for one. But that was over long before it ever started. So he’s straight, right? He loves women. Always has. So how can this strawberry-blond human male who stumbled onto their land have him questioning everything he ever thought he knew about himself.
Shayne Matthews is lost in the Smokey Mountains when a light in the distance leads the way to what he thinks could be a potential rescue. But it’s a decision that ends up landing him in a cell. Inside a world he never knew existed, fear turns to lust and a whirlwind of an adventure that puts him in the middle of a battle for dominance and power.
When the thirst for blood at Ariel Estates rears its ugly head once more, Eli is forced into a triangle of options where there is no right move. He must choose between his best friend, the human who’s claimed his heart, and what is in the Pride’s best interest.

Bad Choices, Bad Choice, So Where’s the Right Choice? This is the first book of Jessica Lee that I’ve read. It was beyond my ‘normal’, ‘vanilla’ romance realm, way beyond. So I really wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into. I’m glad I chose to read her book, In the Pride’s Best Interest. I started the book right after lunch on a dreary spring day, perfect for putting your feet up and relaxing with a good book. Before I knew what hit me, I was transported to the Smokey Mountains engaged in a story that provided action, adventure, mystery, revenge, and romance. What more could a girl want? It was a wonderful afternoon learning about the world of shifters and their interactions with ordinary humans, the blooming of a new romance, and the revenge of a lost mate. The characters captured your heart as their reality tested their relationship and loyalties to the pack and friends. In the Pride’s Best Interest is definitely an adult book with plenty of sizzle, as the main characters explore their budding relationship.
Pleasantly surprised. I'm a long time fan of paranormal, but relatively new to the LGBT paranormal genre. I went into the book with a open mind and I'm glad I did. This is the second book in the Ariel Estates series, but it could stand on its own. The main characters are lion shifter, Eli Novack, and human, Shayne Matthews. The book is ultimately a story that explores two lonely people who just happen to be men and meet and feel a deep connection. Both characters had lost their mothers and feel the loss which further connects them. The issues keeping them apart are the fact that Shayne is human and to a smaller extent, the fact Eli had never been with a male before. The jump Jessica Lee creates of formerly hetero Eli to his sexual attraction to Shayne is believable and largely undramatic *much appreciated*. The author also creates very likable, believable, and sympathetic characters even in the "villains". I was also happy to see that the author did not cop out and make Shayne the lisping caricature that cinema often does with same sex portrayals.
