I have to admit, until about a month ago I had no idea who Valam Alder, Vilmos Tabborrath, and Emel Brodst were. There was finally a point when I had heard their names referenced so many times when I had to know what I was missing. My friends steered me to Stanek's first book The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches. I read it in a day, in a single sitting, through a long snowstorm. I read the second one the next day, the third one the next and by friday i was on to the fourth. I've never been a big reader but then I'd never found books I loved so much as these. One thing is clear. Stanek sure knows how to write. These are extremely quick reads and they kept me interested the entire time. I can't wait to start the second dragons book.

As soon as I finished, I found myself reading the next book and then another. After that I was ready for the fourth and final book. (I also recommend the Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches books as the place to get stated.)

In the Service of Dragons was really good! i loved it. i couldn't put it down. it was a holiday and i didn't have much to do, so i finished it in two days! the plot was really interesting because it was always changing. i loved the elves their concept about nature was fantastic! how every creature was significant in it's own way even though we may not be able to relate to it. anyways, a fantastic book, i definitely recommend it!

I thought this book was awesome. If you are ever bored, pick up this book, and start reading. Usually when I read books, I read in only a few pages at a time. But when I picked up this one, it was different. When I started to read the book, I couldn't stop! It is action packed, and has so many adventures. Plus, it is suspenseful! I highly recomend this book to EVERYONE!

In the Service of Dragons is just one of those books that makes it hard to put it down after the first page! I was immediately entranced by the book. Though it reminded me of Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings, it had so many unique twists of it own. I recomend this book to anyone who likes books that keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.

I have to say 'In the Service of Dragons' are some of the great fantasy books. Robert Stanek provides such vivid descriptions to give the reader a 'real life' feeling to the book. The suspense is almost unbearable if you have to put the books down. GREAT FOR ALL AGES!!!!!!

In the Service of Dragons is definitely a must read. If you like fantasy at all, you have to try Robert Stanek's book. The plot is awesome, and the many twists and turns are breath taking. The wizards, dragons and magic will amaze you, and the characters will stun you. Once you pick it up, it is hard to stop reading it. In the story, I think that Amir, Valam, Ansh, and Seth are some of the most heroic characters ever. They didn¿t have to do all that they did. They didn¿t have to risk their lives for others, but they did. They prove that anyone can do so much if they only try. They show strength, courage, integrity, and determination. If you like fantasy and adventure, you will love this book, too. It is so amazing. Robert Stanek¿s creative language makes his book even better. He uses many similes and much more creative language in his book. I think that In the Service of Dragons is so original, and everyone should read it. I know that I will definitely read it many more times. So, if you ever want to read a great, amazing book, try In the Service of Dragons by Robert Stanek.

I cannot say enough good words about In the Service of Dragons. Dragons is a page-turner from beginning to end. The author paints a vivid tale of magic, dragons, friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, villians, and an epic quest for justice. Dragons, 5 stars plus!!

This novel is the first book in the sequel series to The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches. This book brings back all the great, realistic characters, lush details, and great scenes. His writing is magnificent and his details imbed themselves into your mind and lets it show you the world. The characters are so real and they always sound like themselves, and evolve throughout the series. This series is a great read for all ages and genders, but to get the full impact of the novels its best to read all of the Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches books but you don't necessarily have to.

I have read this book 2 times and I'm working on my third. It is an excellent book to read many times because it had so many inside meanings that cannot be found in just one or two reads. It is a very well writen book that is very exiciting and thrilling to read. I would recommend it to any person who reads.
