In The Shadows Still We Love
In a land of dazzling beauty and unspoken pain, where tradition and prejudice often walk hand in hand, two men-Belony and Mervilus-dare to seek love in the shadows. Still We Love is a stirring novel that gives voice to the silenced, dignity to the marginalized, and light to lives often shrouded in secrecy.

Set against the backdrop of contemporary Haiti and its far-reaching diaspora, this deeply emotional and powerful story follows Belony and Mervilus as they navigate the complexities of love, identity, and survival in a society unwilling to embrace them fully. Their tender yet defiant bond unfolds through quiet acts of courage, whispered dreams, and the constant tension between fear and authenticity.

This novel is more than a love story. It is a celebration of resilience, an homage to those who live their truth despite the danger, and a mirror reflecting the unyielding strength of Haiti's LGBTQ+ community. Through rich, lyrical prose and unforgettable characters, Carlo Damus pays tribute to those who live in the margins but whose stories deserve center stage.
