Overview

In a world of diminishing freedom, the pressure begins to build on Walter Smithton, from the moment of his amazing scientific discovery. He is following the work of Demetrius Zayack, a leading scientist in his field, who mysteriously disappears without a trace. Smithton begins to believe that Zayack’s disappearance may have been caused by the same discovery he has now made. Smithton feels it is only a matter of time before his discovery is uncovered. He must choose to destroy the creation he has made or risk disappearing and losing the life he has built.
Smithton is now caught up in a last-ditch attempt to stop Zayack’s creation, which has become out of control. He and his team are chosen to attempt to subdue or kill Zayack’s creatures. The role into which he is thrust changes from a making a decision of life or death for his creation to a struggle for his own life or death.
He soon finds the real battle may not just be with the creatures themselves, but with those who want control of them. He has to contend with Bush, who will do anything to regain the control of the creatures, and the General, who will do anything to kill them. These are the men who, without a doubt, have the power to decide whether he will ever be seen or heard from again.
It will take all of Smithton’s abilities, and more, to find a way to subdue or kill the creatures and to live to tell about it as he follows In the Steps of Zayack.
