    A shocking and entertaining collection of images

    What to say about the artist Ismael Alvarez? Well, he is accomplished: You can see at his professional, stylish website that he has produced prolifically over the years. His work is unpredictable: His work includes pieces containing angels, demons, and other religious icons, carefree beach-goers, and energetic clubthumpers. If the cover image does not give you a clue, he also has some images that are shocking and explicit. Don't let that turn you away from this book if you are a fan; it's a panoply of styles, locations, colors, and emotions, so there is something for everyone who has an open mind.

    As with books from other artists in the genre (Breyette, Broderick), I would not recommend an impulse buy of this book. Many of Mr. Alvarez's images abound on the internet, so do some research first. If the work interests you at all, come back and pick this up.
