I enjoyed this novel. Story The story is the highlight of this
novel.There were so many twists and turns and I loved how the author put
her own spin on reapers and how they functioned.I was really surprised
by the ending and that doesn't happen often! I loved the fact that this
book doesn't end with a cliffhanger. I also liked the fact that the
story is told from both Emma and Finn's point of view. Characters Emma
was an interesting character.I could sympathize with her and really
admired her strength.I liked Emma. Finn was a character that came
across as a little too intense at times and I wasn't his biggest fan. I
loved Cash.The fact that a bad boy was an amazing friend who was always
there for Emma just blew me away .For the first time I was actually
praying hoping that there would be a love triangle .I'm still
disappointed about the fact that there was no love triangle but
fortunately the second book in the series is going to focus on Cash

(Finn's friends Easton and Anaya).I hope to read more about them. What
I didn't like I was never sure of the fact that Finn liked EMMA.He was
basically obsessed with Emma because she was a reincarnation of a girl
he really liked . At the end of the novel I still wasn't sure about the
fact if he was in love with her just because she was the reincarnation
of the girl or because he liked her.I'm not sure if he can actually
differentiate between Emma and Allison or he just thinks of them as the
same person.Finn was also a little too obsessed with Emma for my liking
in parts. The one thing I really disliked about this book is a SPOILER
but it really annoyed me. Basically Emma and Finn let their lust for
each other cloud their judgement and take advantage of a person.I was
really disappointed with Emma when this took place .I thought she was a
good person that would never let something like that happen.I was
actually a little disgusted with both of them after this scene took
place.I was very close to giving this book a 5 but I couldn't forget
this scene and because of this scene I'm giving it a 4. World building
The world building and set up was amazing. Overall , this was a great
book and I'm going to keep my eyes out for the sequel. My Rating: 4/5

Inbetween is the first novel I've read where reapers are dominant, but after reading Inbetween, I was thinking "Sign me up for more reaper books!" Inbetween is gripping, romantic, and full of great writing and characters. Tara Fuller has outdone herself in Inbetween and it is definitely worth the read. I will be eagerly awaiting the next novel in the Kissed by Death series after the foreshadowing note of the end of Inbetween and the hint of what's to come.
When I first met Finn, I knew I would fall in love with him. The premise of Inbetween alone was enough to draw me in and keep me firmly planted in the storyline. The way that Inbetween is written leaves almost nothing to be desired (I mean that in a good way) and the reader wholly satisfied. The writing flows smoothly and consistently, which reminds me of a steady stream in a serene forest. It wraps you up once you enter the stream and just lets you drift away with the story.
Emma was one of my favorite characters. She was that character that could make or break a book and she most definitely made it. I loved her energy and her strength. All her life she's been in near-death accidents and when she discovers the real reason behind them, she doesn't rock back and forth in a corner. She doesn't live in constant fear. Emma doesn't let it affect her and she fights. Inbetween was told in alternating point of views, with a very convincing male voice. The alternating perspective, Finn, was a little annoying at times, coming off as selfish to me occasionally, but I admire his love for Emma.
Bringing in the concept of reincarnation, it strengthens the idea of love transcending time. Inbetween was riddled with many different intricate ideas that you were drawn in from the very first page. The concept of a reaper book is so untouched and out there that when you first open the page to Inbetween, you think that you'll most certainly like it. I wasn't confused as to what a reaper does because it was explained to me very well throughout the novel. Throughout Inbetween, the story not only drew you in because of how substantial it was, it also provided you with satisfaction over the story and also a small need for more.
The foreshadowing note that Inbetween ended on definitely piqued my interest. I am now eagerly awaiting the sequel to see what happens between Emma and Finn. Overall, Inbetween was a gripping, intriguing novel with sound characters, an original premise, and it gave you enough to leave you eagerly anticipating the coming novels in the series.

Let me start off by saying that whatever you think this book may be about, think again. I personally know the lovely Tara Fuller (winks to bloggy sister) and as authors, of course we can’t help but talk about our stories (even when peeps are no longer listening and we’re just blabbing away) because that’s what we do. And having known some about this story going in, I was surprised that she could be so humble about the amazing story she created. The summary gives you only the tiniest glimpse of what is to be found between the pages.
Told from dual POVs, INBETWEEN begins with an action-packed, heart-wrenching introduction to Finn and Emma. We discover just enough about their story—as these two have a history together—to move forward two years ahead where Finn has become, unknown to Emma, her protector against an evil spirit bent on destroying her.
The story and their history unfolds chapter by chapter giving the reader glimpses into the past, and normally this might have made me a bit crazy going, I want to know! Tell me! But in Tara Fuller’s capable hands, the right amount of information, action, romance, and tension was beautifully executed. There was no part where the story lagged and I became impatient. The description of Hell, Heaven, and the Inbetween kept me flipping the pages, while the depth of the side characters’ own stories grabbed ahold of me and I had to find out more about them. I have to admit, the villain of stories I either hate or love. And Tara created a deeply compelling villain who I understood and sympathized with, but who I also loved to hate. She was brilliant.
A perfect balance of tension, humor and romance, INBETWEEN is addicting. I couldn’t put it down till I knew the whole story, and then I was in love with the characters. This is a must read for all Paranormal Romance lovers, as well as anyone looking for their next fresh YA read.

Turns out it's not just some girl, he actually knows her. So years after he keeps a close eye on her to protect her. After the 2nd time he saves her, he shows himself and they begin a budding relationship even though it's breaking the rules.
I enjoyed this book. This is a nice change of pace to all the other paranormal books out there. I look forward to the next book - Blurred - to come out.

Inbetween was well written and intriguing from page one. Tara Fuller is an awesome writer. Her words are descriptive and beautiful. The love between Emma and Finn was not only sweet but goes beyond their life and their deaths. The author made me fall in love with so many characters in this novel. Easton is a particular favorite while Maeve scares me in all the right ways. I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster ride through the novel. One moment smiling at Cash's antics, and the next worried for Emma's saftey. Inbetween is creative and emotional, well thought out and clearly expressed. Her interpretation of Heaven, Hell, and the Inbetween was fun to read. I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment of the Kissed by Death series.

I could hardly put Inbetween down! It was breath taking! The reapers’ world was so full of intrigue and the plot of a soul’s revenge was captivating. One step into this novel’s pages, and I was hooked.
But it was the characters were what really made the story delightful. They were all wonderful! Though I’ll admit, Finn would not be considered as one of my major book crushes in this novel. Those would actually be the secondary characters: Cash and Easton. But Finn was definitely one of my favorite main characters of the year. I felt connected to him.
As for Maeve, the soul exacting her twisted revenge on Emma, I found her simply chilling. I mean, what can a mortal really do when the person seeking revenge is already dead? I must say, at least Emma gave it her best shot on her own, but Maeve was relentlessness. She was the perfect villain for this novel, and I loved how you could see, physically, how her own darkness was swallowing her whole.
All in all, Inbetween is, hands down, a must read! I would highly recommend picking up a copy if you haven’t already!

It was scary, fast paced, romantic, and packed with the paranormal. Inbetween is beautifully crafted, fun and everything that a paranormal novel should be. Now that I have that out of my system, I’ll start this off by saying how excited I was to start reading this novel—it’s one that I’ve wanted to read for a long time and when I began it, I never wanted to stop.
Inbetween begins by introducing us to main characters Finn and Emma, both of whom have a past with each other, with only one of them being aware of that fact. It started off in a very awesome-sauce way, where we see Finn watch as Emma’s Dad’s soul is reaped and watch him break all the rules to keep Emma from dying. From the start we are introduced to Maeve, a poltergeist who is psychotic and was supposed to have Emma’s life. The story does start out in a way that has readers a bit confused, but it’s nothing that could drive you crazy because it’s pretty obvious that you’ll learn more about the mysterious past between the two main characters later on in the novel.
Basically, Inbetween is the story about Grim Reaper, Finn, who finds himself falling for the reincarnation of his once dead girlfriend and your regular human, Emma, who is living a life that shouldn’t be hers. The two struggle with the fact that Finn is breaking every rule that the Keeper of the Reapers, Balthazar, has created to keep the dead from mixing with the living. Throughout the story, a psychotic ghost who should be living Emma’s life attempts to kill her and adds in horrific scenes of terror and action that had my heart pounding in my chest.
The relationship between Finn and Emma was one that I found cute and risky because of the fact that rules were constantly being broken and Finn fights to not go corporeal and touch Emma—which would result in him going to Hell as punishment. Emma as a character, is one that I think many readers could relate to emotionally, over the fact that Emma’s Dad died and her mother is moving on by getting a potential boyfriend.
There were multiple scenes that had me going “awww!” and had me screaming at the book for the main characters to defend themselves/defeat Maeve whenever she would strike. There is a major twist in the story that I have to admit I did not see coming and only gives readers more reason to hope that Finn can protect Emma from Maeve even more than he already has.
All in all a very fun and romantic read. Fans of Alyson Noel’s the Immortals series and YA paranormal romances will definitely find themselves falling hard for Inbetween. And lucky for all of us, it’s a series. Can I get a woot, woot?
Finn is a reaper for the Inbetween. The Inbetween is kind of a sorting ground for souls. Finn remembers what it was like to be human, which is probably why he ends up in so much trouble. After a mistake years ago, Finn ends up with reaps that are designed to teach him a lesson. What that lesson is, he's not quite sure. Now he's ghostly stalking Emma, who's the reincarnation of Allison. Allison, is Finn's old love from the Inbetween. Finn also had Allison jump the line on reincarnation, taking the spot of someone else. Finn is torn between wanting to protect Emma and doing his job as a reaper. Everyone dies, but Finn doesn't want to see that happen to Emma.
That spot in line for reincarnation was supposed to be Maeve's spot. Now's she is a very pissed off spirit who is hell bent on making Finn hurt. The best way she knows to make him hurt is through Emma. Maeve causes several near death "accidents" that are targeted to kill Emma. Each time Maeve intends to harm Emma, she ups the ante
Emma doesn't know what to think about all of the accidents happening around her lately or the fact that every night when she dreams, she hears voices, and remembers things that she's never done. While attempting to figure out all of the strange things going on around her, she pretends to be normal so her mom will not send her back to the mental instution.
Finn's reaper friends are pretty awesome. Each of his friends know that Finn shouldn't follow Emma around and put off his reaper duties, but any time Finn asks for a favor they are always willing to help. Even if it's not always in Finn's best interest, it's what he wanted. Those are some pretty great friends to have. Easton is a reaper for hell, he is pretty emotionless. He believes that everyone makes their beds, so they can lie in them. Despite that belief, he really does not want to see Finn get into more trouble than he already is. Or end up in hell where, he knows exactly how horrible it is, even for just a quick visit to drop off souls. I really like Easton, he's one of those dark characters that just draw me in for some reason. Anaya is a reaper for Heaven and while she tells Finn it's a bad idea to get close to Emma and silently follow her around, she silently watches Cash. It's kind of like Anaya and Easton are Finn's own walking and talking conscious.
Cash is Emma's best friend who doesn't appear to be as damaged as he really is. He is Emma's opposite and their friendship really works. Even if Emma won't tell Cash what's truly going on with her. He's willing to do just about anything for her, even if Emma may seem crazy.
Inbetween is a fresh breath of creativity amongst the vast amount of paranormal books. The romance is torturous (but so good) where Finn can't touch Emma without breaking the rules and your'e just dying for him to break those rules. Ms. Fuller seriously knows how to write Heaven, Hell, and everything Inbetween.

Inbetween delivers a ethereal, romantic story of enduring love and the unimaginable lengths a boy will go to in order to protect the girl he loves.
First of all...WOW. I really enjoyed Inbetween. Author Tara Fuller delivered a beautifully written story that captured my attention and my heart.. From the very first page, I was hooked. The way the story unfolded was smart, with a prologue that takes the reader back in time and sets the story up very nicely. The emotion created within the words forced me to see and know the characters, the emotions that moved across their faces and reflected in their voices. I had no choice but to become emotionally invested in the story.
I loved this world of Reapers and the Afterlife that Fuller created. These Reapers served Heaven, Hell and the Inbetween. These Reapers, complete with Scythes, are hardcore, particularly those who serve Hell. And at this point I have to say that I was sufficiently creeped out by the vision Fuller created of Hell, with it's eternal torment of the damned's worst nightmare. Luckily we don't spend too much time there! The Inbetween is more of a "grey area", a holding area for those whose souls have yet to be determined. And where Finn resides.
And that brings me to the characters. Emma is a human girl who was meant to die, but was given a second chance. A chance given to her by Finn. Finn and Emma have a complicated and romantic history. A history Emma doesn't recall, but has affected her nonetheless. I really liked Emma. She's a true victim of circumstance. She feel as if she's crazy, has been considered unstable for reasons she doesn't understand. And Finn is to blame. I have to get behind a guy who loves his girl so much that he will defy Heaven and Hell to save her. I truly felt sorry for him, to watch the girl he loves, and not be able to be with her. And yet, Finn also upset and disappointed me. I believe in true love, but not at the expense of others, particularly using them to get what you want and take what's theirs. I definitely thought he was selfish at times, but that also made him a character who pulled me further into the story.
Now, I must mention three other characters, two I loved and one I hated. Maeve is a bad soul. She thinks Emma had what should've been hers, and she is hellbent on revenge. Maeve was a great villain because she complicated. She's evil, cruel and does awful things, yet she has a point in her rage. Cash is Emma's best friend and makes every scene substantially more fun. He is so good to Emma, accepts her quirks with a smile and a shoulder. He has his own troubles, yet is always there for Emma. And, Easton. Be still,my sarcastic heart. Easton is one of Hell's Reapers and he's good at his job. I loved his dry wit, his up-front demeanor, his willingness to put himself on the line for his friend. I want more of Easton. A whole book of Easton. Someone please tell me Easton will get his own book!
I would have liked the first half of Inbetween to move a little faster. There was a lot time devoted to setting up the characters and their stories. Once the details were set in place,it was so fantastic. I didn't want to put the story down, and it constantly stayed in my thoughts when I was able to set it aside for a bit. The tension consistently rose the further I went and by the end I was reading with one hand on my Kindle and the other on my heart. I was so thoroughly happily with the way the story ended and I can't wait to read the next book.
Inbetween wasn’t what I expected it to be. When you start a book that has Death in the title, a reaper as a main character and Edgar Allen Poe as inspiration, you expect something dark and creepy (well, it wouldn't be that creepy for me - I’ve always had a slight fascination with books with/about death, reapers, fallen angels and the like. Hey, it’s not as bad as it sounds. Remember Reyes? Or Tod?;)). But Inbetween wasn’t like that: it has some dark, somehow gothic and scary elements, but it’s also tender, beautiful and heartwarming. Mainly, it’s a story about love. Love that transcends time, space, life and, if you will, the laws of the universe and everything in between (no pun intended). It’s about believing in the impossible; about hope, trust and rediscovering oneself; about crossing the line, pushing the limits, facing deadly consequences and doing your best (or worst) to be with the person you love. It’s about loyalty, sacrifices, learning how to deal with raw emotions, pain and loss, to be stronger and to look forward to the future. It has so much depth, intensity and an all consuming romance that it will definitely make you your heart squeeze (and sometimes your toes curl too). And like that wasn’t enough, Tara Fuller also adds a tad of humor, mystery, tension, intrigue and an awesome cast of characters that will guarantee a captivating read!
Emma is your usual high school girl – or is she, really? Her father’s accident (which happened two years ago) let her frail, broken and prone to all sorts of accidents. Since that accident, scary things happen around her and she has some weird dreams about a girl she never met ("ever since Dad died, I’d been waiting for the other shoe to drop. That fate would get me, too."). Her only solace is hanging out with her best friend, Cash. He’s fun and he wants to help her have a normal life. He cares about her, he’s always there for her and even drags her with him at parties (even though he sometimes forgets about her after a few beers).
"This was why I loved Cash. Why he was the one stable thing in my life while the rest of the world spun out of control around me. He always knew what to say to ease the pressure, make me smile, make me forget why we were fighting in the first place."
He can’t be there all the time to save Emma from everything though. But Finn can – well, at least he can try, even when he’s not supposed to. When he finally steps into the picture, things get really interesting (not always in a good way):
"I felt lost in the impossible, in the way I was starting to feel about Finn. There was a silent tug-of-war ripping me apart inside. One side telling me to do what was sane, the other pulling me over the edge of reason where nothing made sense."
Finn's love for Emma is stronger than anything - stronger than time and all boundaries between their worlds, and he'll do whatever it takes to save her from the evil that stalks and hurts her, even if it means breaking all the rules and condemning himself to eternal hell.
Finn is what I liked the most about this novel. He’s such a complex, layered character and it’s impossible not to love him! His immense love for Emma makes him go from selfishness and recklessness to selflessness, guilt, despair, devotion and an unbelievable strength when it comes to facing impossible situations! You can’t not feel for him and want things to work out for him and Emma already! Seriously, I just wanted to reach into the book and hug him.
"He had a sad look on his face. Not the kind that showed how he was feeling at that second, but the kind that’s branded there after seeing things that can never be unseen. His light-brown hair was cropped close around his scalp, the longer pieces on top stained gold from the sun. His jaw was strong, classic looking. He looked like he belonged somewhere else, a place where it was normal for boys to look like James Dean and rescue damsels in distress. "
Something else I really liked about Inbetween was the cast of supportive characters. They’re fun, smart and each one of them has a strong, well developed personality. They always come into the story in the right place at the right time, ready to lighten the mood or to help their best friends. Who thought reapers could be so much fun to be around?:D I love Easton (Finn’s best friend) – if there’s a fan club for him anywhere around the blogosphere, sign me in. I’ll make the T-shirts! And Cash – well, Cash. *dreamy sigh* He already has a special place in my heart and I can't wait to read more about him!
"I laughed, wondering if there could possibly be someone else like Cash out there. I doubted it. Cash was sarcasm and seduction wrapped up with a gooey artistic center. He didn’t need a T-shirt to get any girl he wanted. All he had to do was look at them. The bad part was that he knew it. "
And the villain in this story? Wow, now that's something I felt torn about! I sympathized with her, but I also hated her for all the trouble and pain she caused. She created all sorts of twists, turns and tense situations that had me holding my breath and gripping the edges of my seat.
Also, there's something special about Tara Fuller's writing. It's rich, imaginative and captivating. There are some small details (shimmering, glimmering, smoking, dissolving and stuff like that) that make for a great visual effect.
"Finn finally turned around to face me, his outline shimmering with a silvery dust. It was like he was wrapped in the Milky Way, cloaked in a translucent blanket of stars. "
Now, you might wonder why I don't give this book 5 stars. Well, I had a tiny problem with Emma. While I felt bad for her and I really wanted her to be happy and all, I didn't connect with her as much as I would have liked to. She didn't really stand out to me - it felt like all we knew about her was actually through Finn's eyes and more about his feelings about her. And sometimes she was more selfish and needy than necessary, despite the circumstances. She gets herself into some dire situations - even if it was pretty obvious she would get herself into trouble, she went there headfirst anyway. It was kind of irritating, but thankfully, this happened just a couple of times or so, not enough to spoil my love for the book overall.
With that being said, I really recommend this book - it's a different and original kind of Paranormal Romance that I'm sure it will appeal to many reads.

Recieved an e-ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review
I crushed on this book before I was able to read it. You know, those books that you anticipate so much that in your head they are going to just be epic. In my heart, I just knew that this book would be a 5 out of 5 stars. So I waited until the kids were asleep, walked upstairs to my reading chair and buckled down. The Prologue was awesome! Totally blew me away. Right away we are introduced to a death scene- with reapers, souls, the living, the shadows and the enemy.
Emma, who I was planning on loving to death (pun intended), kinda got on my nerves. I wanted to shake her and scream- "Man up woman! Fight, fight like you have never fought before darn it, fight for your life!" Finn was a little too woe is me.... The love of my life..... I can never be with her.... Insert eye roll please.
Now that being said Tara Fuller is an amazing writer. Why? Dare you ask me? Well you see that list down below the ratings? The one of the other characters? Tara created a circle of Other Characters that will blow your socks off.
Fuller's ability to make you fall in love with the secondary characters is an art form. She brilliantly crafted a group of characters that the readers will fall in love with. There is no doubt in my mind that other readers will feel the same way. There were times that I cared more about what Anaya, Easton or Cash were doing than the main characters.
Anaya- Heaven's reaper, Finn's friend and a gentle soul
Easton- Hell's reaper, Finn's friend and there is just something about him that you are going to like. Trust me on this one.
Scott- A shady reaper, trust him if you want but this southern gal knows better.
Cash- Emma's best friend, neighbor and an all-round great guy. Hopefully the book next in the series will be about him.
Maeve- An angry soul with a score to settle, too bad it is Emma's she wants.
Inbetween by Tara Fuller is a cute story about a grim reaper and the
human girl he's sworn to protect, despite all of the trouble he knows
he'll get in. It's told in alternating points of view, jumping back and
forth between the brooding reaper Finn and the innocent human Emma.
Inbetween is a story of forbidden love and vicious vengeance. I felt
like I had jumped into the middle of a book when I started Inbetween.
There's a lot of history between the characters. History that you find
out about later in the book, but it's glossed over in the beginning,
which left me feeling like I was missing something. But that same
suspense and intrigue was what kept me interested in knowing how it was
all going to end, so it wasn't a bad thing. Just a little unsettling at
first. The only thing that annoyed me about Inbetween was the way that
during the entire course of the book all Emma and Finn say is how much
they want to be with each other all the time. I get it, you like each
other. You don't need to keep repeating yourselves! In fact, Emma and
Finn's romance is about as close as you can get to instalove without
actually crossing the line. The only thing that saves their relationship
from truly being classified as instalove (though I think I'll classify
it that way anyway) is that they fell in love twenty-something years
before Emma even meets Finn. They first met when Finn was reaping Emma's
soul to take to the Inbetween and she decided she wanted to be friends
with him. So there is a lot of history there, we just get to see very
little of it in the actual book. So, I may not have been the biggest
fan of Finn and Emma, but I really liked Emma's friend Cash and Finn's
reaper friend Anaya. I really, really wish that I had gotten to see more
of them. Or better yet, if they got a book all of their own in the
future. Their story just seemed so much more interesting to me, and I
connected with them in a way I just couldn't with Finn and Emma. There's
a mystery between them and I can't wait to find out what it is! All in
all, Inbetween was a nice, light read. The story didn't quite stick with
me as much as I would have liked, but it was fun while I was reading it.
Inbetween might not have been exactly what I was looking for, but I
still recommend this for anyone looking for a cute romance or a good
story about angels/reapers.
Inbetween is a fresh, beautiful romance story. Tara Fuller gave me a few
eerie chills with this unique reaper romance. Fuller is a wonderful
writer. Her writing is strong and clear, and she gives her characters a
fantastic personality with a great sense of humor along with warm
sensitivity that came through beautifully with Fuller's writing. I
easily fell in love with Emma, Finn, Cash, Easton, Scout, and Anaya . I
also enjoyed that Fuller wrote this story from both Emma and Finn’s
point of view. Yes, I love when an author does this, it always pulls me
in more quickly and makes it a deeper read. Emma and Finn captured my
romantic heart, and I wanted them to have a chance for love. Thank you,
Tara, for making my heart also come alive with Finn's heart with his
love for Emma. Emma is Allison’s second chance at having a life. This
second chance for Allison came when Finn (who's a reaper) broke the
number one reaper rule with Allison while she was waiting in the
Inbetween: reapers do not fall in love with souls! Finn tries to right
his wrong, but he's found out when you try to fix a wrong it only leads
to a hell of a lot bigger problems. Finn pissed off Maeve with his
pushing Allison through the porthole, and she’s out for evil, sweet
revenge against Finn and Allison (Emma). Finn is a true heartbreaker,
and it was instant love for me with him. Finn's love for Emma is so
beautiful for how deeply he cares and loves Emma. I was crying my eyes
out over Finn, for him never to be with the girl he loves. I also fell
in love with Cash, who is Emma's best guy friend, and totally he’s a
fun, lovable guys who I wanted to fix his lost puppy syndrome. Okay, I
fell in love with Easton and Scout, too! All the guy characters are
swoon-worthy and beautiful in this story. And I do have my suspicion
about Cash and heaven's reaper Anaya, Have to wait for sequel to see if
I'm right, If I am, Cash is in for a heck of romance with Anaya.
Inbetween is an awesomely beautiful, heavenly romance between Emma and
Finn with hell's chilling hand in the mix to stop it. I highly recommend
Inbetween as a must read!

Finn is in love with Emma, head over heals in love with Emma. There is
just one problem, Finn is dead. In fact, Finn is a reaper. He is
assigned not to Heaven or Hell, but to the Inbetween. That place where
souls go until it can be determined where they will end up. Some are
consumed and turned into shadows of darkness, and some are given a
second chance and are sent back to be reborn. It's been 15 years
since he saw her, since he'd seen Allison, but he immediately knew it
was her. He knew that he'd found her, and now, she was Emma. Here's
where things get tricky, Finn is dead, but Emma is very much alive, and
unfortunately he's led Maeve, who is a very evil soul, right to her.
Maeve is out for revenge, and her target at Emma. It is now 2 years
later, and Finn has spent every free moment he has watching over Emma,
protecting her, longing for her, wanting nothing more than to talk to
her and touch her, but there are rules. He has already broken the rules
in the past and has been warned not to break them again, because this
time, he would face Hell. Emma is having dreams, dreams about Finn.
Strange things are happening and she thinks she is losing her mind. As
Maeve's threats and actions begin to escalate, Finn must decide whether
to break the rules again, and if he does, what will the consequences be
not only for him, but for Emma. I really enjoyed this book. The
characters were great. Of course I loved Emma and Finn, but I loved the
other characters to. Chase is Emma's best friend, and he's really hot.
He lives next door, sneaks in and out of her window, and sleeps in her
bed, just like when they were 6 years old. They have the whole Dawson's
Creek thing going on. Easton and Anaya are Finn's "friends."
Easton is a reaper for Hell and Anaya takes souls to heaven. Maeve is
still caught inbetween and is on the verge of turning into one of the
dark shadows. Finn's situation kind of reminded me of that old song
"Stuck in the Middle With You." Finn has Easton and Hell on
the left of him and Anaya and Heaven on the right, and he's just sort of
stuck in the middle dealing with Maeve. The plot and pace of the
story is interesting and keeps your attention. It is told from both
Finn's and Emma's point of view. Books about reapers are not typically
my thing, but this book is totally not what you would expect. I couldn't
help but fall in love with Finn, he is so swoon-worthy, and his cohorts
are pretty cool to. I loved the interaction between them. Inbetween
has the perfect balance of romance, humor, and intensity. The ending of
this book is really great. I can't say more than that without spoiling
it for you, other than to say that it ends really well, and I am looking
forward to the next book in the Kissed by Death series. If you enjoy
paranormal romance, then this is one book you will definitely want to
check out.
Aaaawww! Finn spent the last 27 years in love with one girl, one soul.
A decision he makes separates them but when fate places him in her path
one more time, he decides that he has to make sure no harm comes to her
ever again. Finn is breaking every rule in the book to be with her, to
protect her, while still reaping souls who need to be transported to the
Inbetween. I really liked this world that Tara Fuller has created. Finn
is that gentleman with old school values who is loyal and protective to
a fault. Emma is trying to make the best of her situation and although
she doesn’t know exactly what’s going on she is willing to find out and
not play the victim. Cash is that best friend that loves you and will be
there unconditionally. Cash is a mystery and I'm sure the next book will
be his story. Easton and Anaya, again, are those best friends that are
unconditionally there for you but won’t hesitate to set you straight,
all the time. Maeve, well Maeve was that perfect psychotic villain.
Tara Fuller pulls off many things with this read and there is so much
you can walk away with. This is what resonated most with me: This is
an epic love story made of that slow sweet love, the kind that will
forever embed itself in your soul, whose memories pop up when you least
expect it to and lingers for the remainder of your existence. You are
left wondering what you are willing to do and sacrifice for love. You
are left wondering if a love like that is even possible anymore. The
concept of the Inbetween was interesting and once I finished the book I
couldn’t help but to think about it. See the Inbetween is this place
between Heaven and Hell. It’s where souls need to do the time to either
be sent to Heaven or Hell. This concept is not so hard to accept or to
ponder about. What I found interesting is that in this book it’s your
actions leading to your death that determine where you will go and not
the sum of your life actions. This concept sparked an hour long
conversation where my 10 year old son, my 13 year old niece and I talked
about what happens when you make one fatal choice that messes up your
chances to reach utopia. Let’s just say it’s a trip to think about but I
challenge you to do just that. The plot in this story is not a
complicated one. It’s not full of crazy twists and turns and frankly it
didn’t need to be. It felt clean and had a very specific purpose. Finn
needed to keep Allison/Emma alive. Period. Why? She has a psycho spirit
after her. However, within that simplicity you find a very unique story
utilizing reapers that will keep you wanting to turn the pages, promises
to provoke some very interesting thoughts and will have you wishing you
had the next installment in your hands. Congrats to Tara Fuller for
another wonderful story and "Good Eye" Entangled Teens. ;-)

A captivating whirlwind of death, revenge, and true love. I want a reaper of my own! Seriously, I do. And ladies (and gents)... Easton is mine! So when you all end up falling for him just remember he belongs to me ;)!
Ever since the car accident that killed her father and almost her, Emma has withdrawn into herself. People think she's crazy and she tends to stick by herself. But, when you're constantly avoiding near death experiences... all your life is, is crazy. Then tragedy tries to take her again but instead she's saved by a boy. A boy who just happens to be a reaper. Finn has been in love with Emma since he's met her and he refuses to let her die. He'll do anything to save her, even if it goes against everything he's known.
Tara seriously kills me with her writing. Everything is so beautifully described and her metaphors and descriptions are like sweet icing on top of a brilliant story line. It's so easy to fall in love with her story from the beginning. I also love how she gave us duel view points from both Finn and Emma. Getting inside both of the main character's heads... it always makes me fall in love with them more.
Speaking of characters... full set of perfect boys alert! I do not kid. Tara has three major boys in this story and each of them have their own hidden background story. Their own reason that they shine and I'm seriously in love with them all. Finn is that perfect sexy boy who wants to protect and save the girl he's in love with. Cash, the sexy stud playboy artist. Cash is Emma's best friend and regardless of his reputation with the ladies, Cash is the perfect best friend and I found myself laughing with him or basically wanting to jump him, ha! Then finally there's my boy Easton. Easton doesn't shine has much as the other two in this story, but there's something I find so intriguing about him. Something that makes me want to get inside his brain and pick him apart. He's always there for Finn, and I totally support bromances!
With beautiful writing and a captivating romance, Inbetween will literally reap you from beginning to end. I absolutely loved Emma and Finn's story. There are so many amazing characters and so many brilliant moments. Now, I just have to try and patiently wait for Cash and Easton's stories so I can fall in love with them even more!

Inbetween mixes the sweetness of young love with salty danger, and the
result is addictive. Fuller has created a book boyfriend who is
literally willing to go to hell and back for the girl he loves, and
their story is so much fun to read. Finn is a reaper; a soul with a job
to do. He didn't mean to fall in love, but the tug on his heart was
undeniable. His gentlemanly demeanor and his forest green eyes make him
a pretty dreamy leading man- then when you see what he is willing to
endure for Emma, you'll be head over heels. What I liked about this
book: the good characters are easy to like, and the bad ones are
downright hate-worthy. It's nice to have a satisfying hate for a baddie
once in a while. I also liked that there was some pretty intense
attraction between these characters, without major scenes that made me
feel like I was invading their privacy. I connected with them
emotionally, without the physical elements being thrown in my face.
Thirdly, I really enjoyed this fresh paranormal concept. I've read a lot
of paranormal, and I don't think I've read a reaper story before. If
there are others out there, I don't think there are many. What I didn't
like: the fact that I have to wait on the next book in the series!
Inbetween hints at the storyline of the next book, which I am certain
will feature some of the same characters, but put different ones in the
spotlight. I am already invested in those characters, and waiting to
read their story is going to be hard! Inbetween is an entertaining read
that will whisk you away with its larger-than-life romance. If you're
looking for a nice escape to curl up with for the weekend, this will be
a great choice.

I found Inbetween to be cute and clever, and although it wasn't
completely original (what is these days, right?), it was still a very
fun read. It was engrossing to the point that I'd find myself skimming
larger passages to read ahead and find out what happened, only to have
to go back and re-read those sections to ensure I hadn't missed
anything. I love when a book has me in its clutches like that, but I
also hate it because it feels like I have to read everything twice.
Inbetween is set in our world but also in a location parallel to our
world, aptly named the Inbetween, as it is that gray area between Heaven
and Hell. It is the place where souls are sent if they haven't quite
earned their spot in Heaven or Hell, though if they are truly
exceptional souls, they may be given the opportunity to return to the
land of the living to really prove their worth. This novel is told as a
dual narrative, from the perspectives of Emma and Finn. They may not
have known each other in this lifetime, but each feels a deep connection
to the other after a chance encounter that leaves Emma without her
father and reminds Finn of a painful loss he suffered some fifteen years
earlier. As a reaper, Finn takes some serious risks to ensure Emma's
safety once he realizes who she is. And Emma is in danger quite often,
which leads to a lot of trouble for Finn, since he's not supposed to
interfere in human affairs or "go corporeal" because his boss
can sense it and will require a full report. Emma is a sneaky little
minx, digging deep to discover things about Finn that he won't divulge
himself. Yet, she never quite figured out what I had deduced nearly from
the onset of the novel. I'm not going to sugar-coat it…this novel was a
tad predictable, but that only kept the first half of the novel from
being as enjoyable as it could have been. Once the action -- aka
attempts on Emma's life -- really got going, the book became a bit more
suspenseful and engaging. The romance was sweet and cuddly but in the
way a sad puppy at the pound is because there can't be a future for
these two. Emma is of the living, and well, Finn is most definitely not.
He's a reaper, meant not to develop feelings for a human but instead to
send them on to the Inbetween to await their fates. But he can't help
himself. His reaper friends -- Easton of Hell's domain and Anaya of
Heaven's -- both try to convince him his intentions are fool-hardy, that
he's wasting his time and causing trouble for all of them, but he's a
lost cause. He'd try anything, do anything to be with Emma. I kind of
have to wonder if this guy has ANY scruples after some of the things
he's done for her or even contemplated so that he can be close to her.
Although this book is focused on the reapers and a rather forbidden
romance, it has a little bit of everything in there, just to keep you on
your toes: possible body-snatching, Ouija boards, psychotic ghosts,
overbearing mothers…you name it. Oh, and a hot, if somewhat pervy, best
friend who remains strictly in Emma's friend zone. So, no love
triangle…well, not in the most literal sense, anyway, so yay! Wait,
wait, wait. I just remembered there's no cliffhanger either -- though I
did feel that the ending was a little too perfect, a little too easy. I
guess this novel doesn't have everything then, but in this case, that's
not a bad thing. All in all, Inbetween is a great start to a new series
that I definitely plan to continue.
Oh where do I begin with this review? There are just so many things I
loved about this book from the swoon worthy characters to the amazing
plot and the author's awesome writing style. I got so sucked into this
book and didn't want to let go. I haven't read many reaper stories but
this one to me was by far the best. I loved the telling of this story
and the fact that it was basically teens dealing with this situation. I
loved that this story was told through both Emma and Finn;'s points of
view. It was great seeing things from both sides. We start this book
out by meeting Finn who is in the process of saving Emma's life because
she reminds him of someone. We learn that Finn is a reaper and he should
have let Emma die. Finn's love for Emma causes him to let her live and
he spends his time from there trying to keep her safe. Finn was so swoon
worthy and I am totally in love. He was just so caring and yet so
powerful. He made sure that Emma was taken care of at all costs even
when it put himself at risk. The love that he had for Emma was off the
charts amazing. Emma was a tough character. I loved that she was
willing to fit through her issues and not just chalk up her accidents to
chance. She realized something wasn't right and wasn't ok with just
being pigeonholed into being crazy. I loved to see her and Cash together
as he was a great friend. He really made her feel ok about herself. Cash
was another character in himself and so like able. He was so witty and
adorable. There were a lot of really good supporting characters in this
book like Anaya and Easton. It is very rare that I love the supporting
characters as much as the leading ones but the author's writing made me
love them all equally. The story progresses and Emma and Finn fall in
love and learn to interact with each other even more. I loved seeing
them together. Their love seemed so geniune and pure. I loved the risks
they were willing to take to stand up against the challenges they had
against them. The choices that they put into place leads to some pretty
unexpected consequences though and I am anxious to see how they will
handle them all. Overall I loved this book and am saying bravo to the
author for writing such a phenomenal piece of work. I loved this book
and can't wait to see what else will happen with Emma and Finn. I mean
in all honesty all I really need is more Finn in my life like now. I
will definitely be grabbing the next book in this series when it comes
out. I highly recommend this book to readers that want a great plot with
some amazing characters and a great romance mixed in. You will not be
disappointed with this book. Thanks to Entangled Teen for letting me
