If you are going through fertility issues that involve fertility drugs, surgery or ART, you may find this an irritating book. I was somewhat offended by her whining about not being able to get pregnant when she already had one child she'd conceived quickly on her first try. To anyone who has spent years struggling with infertility, taken those painful injectible drugs or undergone surgery, it can seem like she's got it pretty easy. I have no doubt secondary infertility is heartbreaking, but I think there are thousands of infertile women who would be thrilled to have just one child, as she already does. I wish drinking wheat grass juice could solve all our problems, but this approach seems rather facile. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on the book, it was like talking to those fertile people who tell you to 'just relax' and you'll get pregnant.

I agree with the review above that this book irritated me. If you have no option but to go through IVF, this story about a woman who yogas & juices her way into pregnancy can really get to you (especially since she, unlike many women, has enough free time and money to do so). I'm sure it's hard having trouble conceiving a second child but it doesn't compare to years and years of trying to have a first child and undergoing IVF. This book just made me mad, mad enough to write this review which I've never done before...

Julia Indichova is an amazing woman. I have been privileged to take her workshop and can truthfully say that it has changed my life. Unlike most of the "experts" in the fertility maze, Julia does not preach an equation that is exact. She will not say, "take these 3 pills" and you will be pregnant. Instead she empowers you personally; teaching some of the techniques she used when Western Medicine told her that she could not have a child naturally. A child that she had after a 2 year journey to herself. Her work is inspiring, empowering and useful. Best wishes on your journey to the baby you are meant to hold.

Julia has written about her life-changing journey in this book, which was requested by others challenged by fertility issues. She now helps many others conceive - some naturally, others through assisted efforts - many of whom have been told, like her, that their chances of conceiving were slim to none. Julia's website adds further support to those on this journey.

I must admit my first reaction to opening the book and finding out the author already had had a sucessful pregnancy and healthy daughter was anger. I felt like I had been duped. But the author addressed this fact in a humble, forthcoming way throughout her memoir, realizing how many women struggled for one successful pregnancy while she was "asking for seconds."
The author's accessible style, honesty, warmth and sincerity was a winning combination. It was also an inspirational, dare I say life-changing, book.
"Inconceivable" instills hope in those whose situations many in the Western medical community would call hopeless.

In the midst of my own struggle with infertility, I luckily came across Julia Indichova¿s beautiful book, Inconceivable. Her story of hope has touched me like no other book I¿ve read on this subject and it was this book which allowed me to discover the author¿s support circles, workshops and website community which I have found to be an invaluable resource on this difficult journey. I highly recommend this book for anyone, male or female, who is struggling with infertility. I also highly recommend her second book, The Fertile Female which provides hands-on techniques for practicing what Julia calls her ¿Fertile Heart¿ tools. Incorporating these tools into my daily life has transformed me mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. While there are many tools regarding diet, exercise and relaxation, the most valuable and unique tools are the mind-body imagery and body talk tools. Deep within each of us who travel on this confusing, often scary journey through infertility, there exists a powerful and magnificent life force that is yearning to be heard. We can tap into this force more easily by listening to our bodies and connecting with our true self. The Fertile Heart tools exist to help us to this, and I am so grateful to have found them.

Overview
A memoir of hope for the thousands of women struggling with infertility, from one who beat the odds by simply tuning in to her body and tapping her well of sheer determination. At a time when more and more women are trying to get pregnant at increasingly advanced ages, fertility specialists and homeopathic researchers boast endless treatment options. But when Julia Indichova made the rounds of medical doctors and nontraditional healers, she was still unable to conceive a child. It was only when she forsook their financially and emotionally draining advice, turning inward instead, that...
