    As a freelance professional, I am always looking for ways to increase my online presence. This book was very helpful in presenting some basic information for those that are new to social networking WHILE also sharing some tips and tricks for those of us that have been online for awhile. I loved the checklists at the end of each chapter and the step-by-step process the Woessner laid out. Also, the included screen shots were helpful as a reference.

    Each chapter really was a self-contained, mini-workbook. Thus, the book could be read straight through but it also works as a resource where you can pick and choose the areas you most need to address. Because of this structure, I expect this book will become more of a manual for me. I am already planning to re-read it and incorporate applicable information into my written marketing and social networking plans.

    The research information was interesting but it did make the straight reading of the book a bit cumbersome in some spots. The resource and glossary sections were particularly helpful and I thought Woessner did a good job of writing these resources into the book in the appropriate chapters, not just listing them at the end of the book.

    The author spends a handful of chapters on the actual how to of setting up member to Facebook, etc. The process seems pretty elementary until I realized that I actually learned some tricks. This is really the point of the book, most people today can perhaps walk their why through a Facebook post, but they don’t have the experience, from a business standpoint, of which content to use or how to present that content. This book does a good job of educating while keeping in mind the target audience, the small business owner, doesn’t have an excess of time to learn the process.

    Viral Social Networking is a great book for those who currently have a business and want to make the jump to social media marketing. Focusing on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, it takes you through the basic steps of setting up accounts and converting past customers to current fans and using them to attract new clientele. The glossary of social media terms is also quite helpful for the beginner, it provides a quick resource guide for easy understanding.

    This book maybe redundant for those who already have a solid grasp of the social media platforms since it starts at the very beginning of setting up an account. There are a very tips in this book, based on the authors own trial-and-error experiments that can be helpful to everyone, regardless of their proficiency.

    Increase Online Sales Through Viral Social Networking tells (writes!) it like it is. The author starts by detailing the “Three C's” of networking and takes the reader through a step-by-step process on how to glean the best networking and sales results via their website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (and other sites), which don't involve 24/7, pull your hair out time commitments! Instead there are easy to follow instructions and tips that make it feel as if the author is your buddy sharing a cup of coffee and showing you the ropes. Anyone with a business that needs a primer on networking is a candidate for this book. After all, who doesn't want to increase their online sales and website traffic? Great addition to your personal and business library.
