Barnes & Noble - Tracy E. Hopkins
Contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary follow up their Grammy Award-winning debut, Thankful, with the equally gratitude-filled Incredible. On their sophomore effort, the sassy sisters born Erica and Tina Atkins get their praise on with their trademark, bubbly two-part harmony, inspirational lyrics, and R&B-inspired beats. Perhaps Mary Mary's winning formula can be attributed to Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell Luther Vandross, Brandy, who also co-wrote and produced the bulk of their multi-platinum debut. Other standouts include the up-tempo, Rodney Jerkins-produced "He Said," the soothing "This Love," featuring Fred Hammond, and a poignant rendition of Stevie Wonder's "You Will Know." With this Incredible set, Mary Mary give their fans a double blessing.
All Music Guide - Tim A. Smith
Sisters Tina and Erica Atkins, better known to the music world as Mary Mary, follow up their award-winning, platinum-selling debut album, Thankful, with a project whose music aptly fits its title, Incredible. Superstar producer Warryn Campbell, who has worked with the likes of Sisqó, Brandy, Luther Vandross, and Kelly Price, as well as having worked on the duo's debut project, once again works his magic. These sisters rock on the funk-filled tracks "In the Morning" and "God Bless." Also highlighted here are the songs "Trouble Ain't," "Hold On," the beautiful "I Try," and "Little Girl," along with a well-produced cover of Stevie Wonder's "You Will Know." Once again, this album's title says it all.
Vibe - Tony Green
The duo shows lyrical and thematic flexibility, subtly suggesting divine inspiration on some seemingly secular tunes, while going for straight-up gospel on others.

    Anthony Gallien

Whew! I thught these girls were jamming when I heard there first album, (Thank You). But then, I was riding with my cousin in his new car and he was playing this magnificant CD in there. I said who is that jamming like that. He said "Mary-Mary". I couldn't believe it. This CD do is too good for words. I wish and pray for Mary Mary the Best of all God's Blesings. When I become a singer, I want to make an album with them. I love ya'll so so o much. Anthony Gallien Houston, TX

    Awesome

I've enjoyed this cd since the day that I purchased it. I feel that once again these talented, gifted singers provide inspiration and hope to both the believer and non-believer. This is ministry presented in a unique manner. I'd recommend this cd to anyone who enjpoyed their first cd and even those who didn't get it. Personally I don't know where some other reviewers felt that some lyrics were lost in the beats/music. I had no problem in understanding the meaning and their message. Go get this cd and be blessed!!!

    Incredible

From the title track to the end of the album I loved every minute of it. When I heard their first album I was wondering how could they possibly produce a follow up album just as equally impowering, but they proved me wrong. The second album definately lives up to it's name INCREDIBLE. Their music has helped me through alot of tough times in my life. My favorite tracks from this cd are ''I Try'', ''This Love'', ''He Said'',''In The Morning'', and just about the rest of the cd. I didn't have a problem understanding the words either, cause the word of GOD overpowers anything. I would recommend this album to everyone. God Bless

    In LOVE WITH THIS CD

I love this Cd. It is one of my favorite Cd's and it is on my top 3 list. I love the RnB beats and I love the gospel lyrics. With upbeat songs such as He said, God Bless, and Oridnary people, and mellow relaxing ones such as, So close and You will know, and traditional style such as, I try and Thankyou, everyone will get something out of this Cd. I play this CD ALL THE TIME(literally). A must have for any gospel music collection.

    Disappointing

What I liked most about Mary Mary was their clear vocal quality, which is totally lost on some tracks in their second album. Call me Old Skool if you will, but I had difficulty listening to many of the tracks on the first half of the CD because of the overpowering beats. If I had wanted to buy an instrumental with background vocals, this probably would have been a good bet. With that said, I enjoyed the second half of the CD much more and could appreciate the lyrics as well as the vocals.

although Incredibly Inspirational, has overpowering sound

Mary-Mary¿s sophomore album `Incredible¿ is filled with inspiration. Each track lyrically inspires and encourages the listener to trust in God when we feel insecure (`Little Girl¿), when we fail (`I Try¿), and when we need to be reminded that he¿s near and right by our side (`So Close¿). However, one of the major weaknesses of this album is related to their sound. In the songs `Incredible¿, `God Bless¿, `He Said¿, `Hold On¿, and the bonus track, `Happy¿, I believe that the hip-hop beat and rhythm overpowers Mary-Mary¿s vocals, and hinders the power of the words they are singing. Despite the evident weakness I see in `He Said¿, the song has amazing lyrics, which combines words that could be spoken in Jesus¿ perspective, with Tina and Erica¿s encouraging words to trust in the Lord. Additionally, this song has a great transition into the track that follows it - `In the Morning.¿ Although, I believe some tracks deter from the power of the lyrics, there are two songs in which the musical accompaniment accommodate the lyrics - `In the Morning¿, `This Love.¿ These two songs are unique to this album because `In the Morning¿ has an instrumental string orchestral introduction which sounds like a musical conversation between the violins and cellos. Also, `This Love¿ has a poignant verse that I believe is important, especially for Christians, that God¿s love is better than mother¿s and father¿s love. Mary-Mary also compensates for their overpowering sound with Holy Spirit filled songs like `I Try¿, `So Close¿, `God Has Smiled On Me¿, `You Will Know¿, and `Trouble Ain¿t.¿ Each of these songs has a slow R&B sound, which can serve as meditative prayers. My favorite of these slower tracks is `I Try.¿ From the way they sing `I Try¿ I can definitely feel that Tina and Erica are making this song a prayer - a cry of their hearts. I wouldn¿t be surprised if they were recording this song on bended knee. Although Tina and Erica didn¿t not participate in the writing of `Thank You¿, and `God Has Smiled On Me¿, in these songs I believe Erica and Tina indirectly responds to the events of September 11, 2001, and diseases like AIDS, cancer, and anthrax. In both songs the lyrics imply that they are thankful for God¿s love and protection from tragedy, disease, crime, and drugs.
