Nearly a decade after the release of their groundbreaking debut, The Sickness, Disturbed have become one of the most respected bands in the hard-rock universe thanks not only to pummeling riffs and jackhammer beats but passionate insights into our troubled times. I have to say, this album is much better than "10,000 Fists"...which is a good album, but not great. While I still favor "Down With The Sickness", this album grows on me more and more with each time I listen to it. It's got a heavier rhythm that underlies it than the previous two albums. And actually, in my opinion, the best songs on the album are the last three: "Criminal", "Divide", and "Facade". Anyway, if you're a Disturbed fan, you won't be disappointed. If you're not a Disturbed fan, you just might be after this one!

A fourth album, and a fourth hit in my opinion. Unlike it's predecessors, however, Indestructible doesn't seem nearly as "Radio-Friendly". The songs are much deeper, almost on the level of Believe, but with a much higher level of aggression, relating back to The Sickness. This fourth album is definitely a harbinger of more "and hopefully even better" music to come.

Disturbed has a habit of changing things up with every album. The Sickness served as a stepping-off point, an experiment in raw agression. Believe took that base and built it into a baroque cathedral of fine-tuned vocals and polished riffs. 10,000 Fists looked back, said to hell with the style, and started tearing down the house in an unrelenting stream of arena nu-metal. Likewise, Indestructable moves in a different direction than the previous work, though not quite forward. Instead, the group has returned to their roots in an effort that seems less like an independent album and mre like a study of their bleakest foundation, a subterranean nightmare that was secretly waiting beneath earlier material. In form, it sounds like a place where the sun has never shone, a brutal, lunatic, and often cryptic landscape of sound, far darker than even The Sickness despite being the first album not to sport a parental advisory sticker. It is certainly the least catchy, most complex of the four studio recordings, delving into the pysche of David Draiman like a surgeon without anaesthetic. Tracks like the title opener Indestructable, Inside the Fire, and Perfect Insanity are the misanthropic gold, the closest to radio-friendly this album is likely to turn out. But the high point is found in the simpler, more wickedly focused rage of Haunted, or The Curse, monster tracks lurking in the cellar corners like the figure of the album's cover art, waiting to destroy doubts and expectations alike. Indestructible is a journey through a dark place, yes, but an important one that will not only be appreciated by itself, but also lead to future expansions of the impressive group's efforts into bolder, and probably more intense still, regions of music.

Super heavy. Crunchy chords. Awesome tight rhythm section with gobs of double bass. Choruses with an instant hook. Loved this new one.

I have been a long time Disturbed fan, and after finally acquiring this one, I listened through it, and I have to say that this is probably one of their best albums. I like their earliest 2 albums well enough, believe me, but I would have to say that this and 10,000 Fists are probably my favorites. Disturbed definitely has great heavy rock sound. Definitely check out this album kiddies! Great stuff!

"Indestructible" marks the triumphant return of one of my favorite bands, Disturbed. I think it is simply an incredible album and one of the standout rock releases of 2008 to date. The album certainly delivers on the band's trademark sound and does not stray too far from what made Disturbed successful to begin with - as a matter of fact, I feel it is more of a return to the harder sound they had prior to 10,000 Fists. I also feel that their maturity clearly shines through with this release and they have found the perfect balance between the metal and the melodic. As usual, David Draiman's strong vocals, the outstanding guitar work of Dan Donegan and the pounding rhythm section of John Moyer and Mike Wengren, work together in undeniable harmony to bring the out the best of every song. I think Dan has really taken his guitar playing to the next level - his solos are OUTSTANDING on many of the songs - what a talent. I have a hard time picking out favorites - the entire album is so strong -but if I had to choose, Indestructible, Perfect Insanity and Divide are standouts for me. Buy it - you'll love it!
