Booknews
In the 28th annual volume, Catal<'a>, Cuban-born practitioner of sciencepoetry, and Anderson (library and information sciences, Rutgers U.) cite over 21,000 poems by nearly 7,400 poets in 300 periodicals from Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. They include poets from elsewhere publishing in North American journals, and translations into English. Their criteria for selecting journals is the recommendation of poets, librarians, scholars, and publishers. That for selecting poems is quality, presentation, and the status or reputation of the poet. The main listing is alphabetical by poet; periodicals are also listed, and titles and authors are indexed.
