    Handy Reference Work

This is a solid guide to the names of heads of households in the NC 1810 census that I have used often in my research. It is a compact book that is easy to transport. I have found it very useful for discovering the spelling variations of my family names as they were used at the time of this census. A description of the contents of the various microfilm rolls that cover this census is included in the book - along with a map of the approximate boundaries of the NC counties existing in 1800 with notes of changes that occurred before 1810.
