Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

We Americans tend to mentally melt Indians into one stereotypical group, thus depriving the more than 500 indigenous tribes of their hard-won traditions and history. This large format hardcover corrects that deforming shorthand by providing essential details about key tribes within eight North American regions, including beliefs, sustenance, shelter, alliances, interaction with nature, history, and more. Indian Nations of North America also describes each tribe's encounters with European and U.S. settlers. With its beautiful illustrations and accessible maps, this keepsake volume is as attractive as it is informative.

“With its extensive coverage of native tribes and outstanding graphics, this new title should appeal to individuals interested in Native American history, anthropology, and ethnic relations.”
