Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Indie Kidd is trying to find her place in life and she thinks that part of that has to do with being grown-up. Maybe if she were grown-up her mom might start trusting her more with grown-up things the way she does with her cool nanny Caitlin. Well actually, she is a lodger in their home, but does the job of a nanny sometimes. Caitlin is nineteen, Scottish, and oh so cool. She has five pairs of platform trainers in five different colors. She has all kinds of perfumes and body sprays. Maybe if Indie could be more like Caitlin then her mom would see that she can be grown-up, too. This soon becomes her summer project, “how to make her mom see her, Indie, as grown-up.” Then one day something happens that causes Indie to realize she really just wants to be a kid and enjoy life, and that being a grown-up is not really all that cool.
