Induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell technology has paved new ways for disease modeling and drug discovery. Disease modeling with the differentiated neuronal cells from patient-specific iPS cells partially recapitulated the phenotypes of spinal muscular atrophy, familial dysautonomia and Rett syndrome.
