My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me--my freshman year of college. I had been hoping that once I had arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that I've been having would go away. It hasn't.

I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I'm grounded...sane. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he is near, I feel an attraction to him--a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you're thinking...that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would--if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I'm the worst thing that's ever happened to Crestwood...or him. But, get this, for some reason every time I turn around he's there, barging into my life.

What is the secret he is keeping from me? I'm hoping that it is anything but what I expect: that he is not exactly normal...and neither am I. So maybe Crestwood won't be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I have been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is...inescapable.

If I could speak 10 different languages, I don't think it would be enough to say I LOVE THIS BOOK!! There is a whole truck load of reasons to love it. So, I picked this book up one evening, and then I was flying through it, but it was time to go to bed. I turn off the lights, snuggle in bed... And can't do it... I turn back on the light and HAD to finish!! Which I did, regardless of my lack of sleep. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!! Here's my first reason. The feather on the cover is actually a dead giveaway for the story- yet I had NO IDEA until a good way through the book what the "supernatural" actually was. I love this because it literally keeps you guessing. Another reason I love this book is I had NO idea that "that person" who turn out to be the bad guy!!! Dammit!!! I was so utterly heartbroken because I kinda fell in love with this character. And I was completely taken aback by the methods to which they were willing to go to. Another reason I loved this book is the realness of the characters. The funny think about that is I know people just like that!! I can relate to them. Even the "non humans" are understandable and even though you will hate the Villain you will understand it. Alright, now the second biggest reason I love this book is the characters. Evie, Reed, Russell, Freddie, Buns, Brownie, TJ, Pete, Uncle Jim, Zephyr, I love them all! Evie may be the main character- and I do love her- but you guys know I'm always a big supporter of secondary characters and there is no shortage of love here. I love Evie's relationship with Buns and Brownie because it reminds me so much of me and my best friends! BUT I always seem to be rooting for the wrong team. You know, when you have "two parts" of yourself, would you not have two different love interests? I'm trying really hard not to give away spoilers but it's getting hard. I guess I will have to be happy with being on "my team" all alone for now! Hahaha :) My biggest reason for loving this book is the writing. You can have so many good elements of a book that come together for a book, but if it's not written well, it could blow the whole thing. Well the writing is utterly beautiful. It had to be otherwise I wouldn't have lost sleep to read it LOL! Every detail is striking but not overly done. Ever feeling is conveyed so you feel it too. Beautiful is the word that comes to mind! I'm not sure I could describe it any other way. I was completely enveloped my the story and I feel like I've made some new friends :) a seriously WONDERFULLY HEARTBREAKING 5 PAWS!!! I'm now going suck up book two as quickly as I possibly can!!

Wow, I had no idea this book was going to be so good. I am so glad I have the next 3 already, lol. Whew, I read it in one sitting, its not short either, but I am a speed reader so reading a book a day is common for me, but still, wow. I was hooked. I fell in love with Reed, wow. Yeah, he was mean and all that in the beginning, kinof the same kind of mean that Daemon is in the Lux series for those who know of him, you will know exactly what I mean. I really liked Russel too, and it was sad that he got hurt so much, won’t give details, but it’s just sad. I really liked Evie, she is amazing, a big kind hearted person who thinks of all others before herself. She has had a bit of a sad life losing her mom when she gave birth to her, and her dad gone, not knowing who he is. She is raised by a very kind uncle. The first part of the book is just a bit slow, but it does not take long to really pick up. Its all necessary to know what is going on. I love the world building Amy did, she is amazing on that. I felt like I was right there with Evie, feeling what she felt, and had me crying with her a few times. I am in love with this series, but I don’t want to give away any of the plot at all, the summary for this book does a good job for that, so won’t repeat that in the review. I want to stress at what a wonderful writer Amy is. I am really impressed; she brought this story to life for me. I was so hooked, as I was not exactly sure what this book was about, I had a feeling by the cover, there was some kind of angel involved, but I did not know what kind, or who was what and who was bad and good for instance. I was so thrown for a loop at that major twist that comes up. I will say I was so surprised. I usually can get a feel for a twist, or something, but I didn’t on this one. So I give this 5 huge stars out of five. Now to get the rest read. I will have the rest read in a few days for sure. I can’t stop. I received a copy of this book for my honest review from the author for her book tour.

I couldn't stop reading . . .I kept telling myself one more chapter, a few more pages . . .what I planned as an hour or two of light reading turned into a all night reading. What can I say? I laughed, I cried, I felt so intune with the character I felt like I became the character at times. Can you fall in love with two people at one time(make that three for my husband)? I fell hard for both Russell and Reid. The struggle for Evie's heart was so tangible I almost forgot where I was. Definately worth the read and definately a re-reader.

I would give this book 3.5 stars if there was a such thing. There were parts of this book that I really loved, like the descriptions of the passion and love between Reed and Evie and the horrifying way the author captured terror in words. There were also things that really stuck out to me. For one there was Russell’s accent. It really did get to me. I much rather would have read normal language with descriptions of a southern twang. The author has a knack for description, and describing his manner of speech would have been something I enjoyed much better. Language was another thing that stuck out to me, particularly the slang. The dialogue felt like it was trying too hard to be cool, and ended up being incorrect for this generation. My husband very nicely pointed out to me that the author is from another part of the country than we are, so maybe this has something to do with it? Either way, I haven’t heard the word copacetic in this decade. I haven’t heard phat since I was in 6th grade, and I’ve never heard anyone refer to something as “this is so gonna pop”. Also everyone in this novel seemed to be a tool at one point or another. I use the word tool, and I like using it, but I don’t always go on “tool” auto-pilot. Some people aren’t tools, they are just plain stupid, annoying, dumber than bricks, etc. There was the other fact that the book was along very similar lines to Fallen, but I do prefer this book to that series. Daniel was nasty to Luce because he loved her, Reed was nasty to Evie because he loved her. This could just be a similarity because they are both angel based story lines though, as the similarities seemed to end there. The love triangle though, was eerily similar to Twilight. Russell would be Jacob, Reed-Edward and of course Evie-Bella. Russell, just like Jacob, began to really irritate me (Sorry Team Jacob/Russell). Reed, hovered over Evie while she slept, just like Edward hovered over Bella. He even professes his “I could kill you if I took this kiss too far” in a very similar fashion to Edward. I know a lot of people love this triangle of love thing, where the main character is torn between two boys, but I end up thinking–just make a decision and stick to it and GET rid of the third piece of the triangle PLEASE because his angst is really annoying me! Overall the book had an interesting story line and was well-written. I will read the next book in the series to see what happens.

This was a really great book! It was interesting, funny, action packed, and romantic. Some of the "slang" was little silly, but it didn't take away from the story. People need to stop comparing every paranormal romance book/series to Twilight! I'm sure if you try hard enough every book can be compared to Every great romance novel has to have some obsticle to overcome whether it be a love triangle, bad guy(s), and/or paranormal influences. All these things exsisted before Twilight and they will go on in the future. This book was original and extremely captivating!

I absolutely loved this book. The characters are so engaging and the adventure never seemed to stop. This one was definitely a page turner as I couldn't wait to find out more about Evie and Reed. And I can't forget about Russell who I absolutely adore. Amy Bartol has definitely found a way to renew my spark in the Angel genre. The story is packed with romance, suspense, and overall great storytelling. I definitely recommend for lovers of YA Paranormal Romance.

This was such a great book! I had such a fun time reading it and really enjoyed the story. The characters were all awsome, besides the evil guys of course. The writing style, romance, mystery ......everything was done so nicely. Overall this was a fantastic book and you should definitely give it a try, especailly if you are a fan of reading stories that usually involve angels angels.

I was expecting something different. Perhaps an extremely immature heroine? I didn't expect such deep characters and vivid descriptions. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.
