More About This Textbook

Overview

Cameron Abbott returns with another heart-stopping tale of love, intrigue, and betrayal set in a major New York law firm! "We spent the rest of the night in much the same way, exploring every nuance of each other and coming back for more. And when the dawn finally started peeking in her window, we slept - she, deeply and sated, and I, with a peace and centeredness such as I'd never known. I'd been transported, taken to a whole new realm of existence - blipped into a new dimension through the portal of her arms. And as I lay there in her embrace, I knew that whatever universe it was, it was a place where I belonged, it was where I was connected and fully alive. For a crazy minute I was tempted to wake up Claire, to tell her I'd finally seen a glimpse of that road described by Colette, the one that had led me, for just a moment, to an inexpressible state of grace." The neatly compartmentalized life of attorney Ashleigh Moore starts to spin out of control the minute she's contacted by the father who left before she was born. At the same time, her career is suddenly jeopardized by the manipulations of the firm's most powerful partner, who puts her in charge of a case involving a ruthless client-a client whose stunning in-house counsel evokes in Ashleigh a hunger that she has kept safely buried for fifteen years, causing her to question her marriage and plaguing her with painful memories of the woman who once broke her heart. Desperate to salvage her career, and at the same time determined to unravel a family secret that has been shrouded in mystery since her childhood, Ashleigh embarks on a journey that will challenge her professional ethics, test her deepest family loyalties, and rekindle the white-hot passion she has denied herself for too long. Teeming with the unbridled eroticism that readers of Cameron Abbott have come to love, An Inexpressible State of Grace is a sizzling page-turner that will keep you guessing to the very end

    Compelling Novel

Abbott writes an engrossing tale that blends several intriguing plots together that revolve around the main character 'Ash.' Abbott's style is poetic and very compelling. I couldn't put the book down; and when it ended, it left me wanting more. Great read.

    Deft Characterizations and Engrossing Plot

After fifteen years, talented attorney Ashleigh ¿Ash¿ Moore¿s marriage is on the skids, and increasingly, she finds herself thinking of her only other love, a woman who broke her heart in college. Ash usually finds solace in her work, but when she¿s assigned a high profile corporate case that could make or break her career track to law partner, she doesn¿t count on the attraction she feels for the client¿s in-house counsel, sexy, intelligent Renee Silver. Then Ash receives legal papers from her long-lost father concerning the estate of her grandmother, and long buried family secrets begin to emerge. To top things off, she unexpectedly uncovers evidence of corporate ethics violations, which could put her in danger. Whom can she trust? Which secrets from the past will come out, and what about the powerful pull she feels toward Renee? With deft characterizations, an engrossing plot, and a marvelous sense about the volatility of secrets, Cameron Abbott has crafted an terrific follow-up to her first novel, To The Edge. Because of the author¿s narrative skill, this fine sophomore novel will go directly to the head of the class. ~Lori L. Lake, author of Different Dress, Stepping Out, Gun Shy, Under The Gun, and Ricochet In Time, and reviewer for Midwest Book Review, The Independent Gay Writer, The Gay Read, and Just About Write.
