More About This Book

Overview

Anchorage, Alaska: gateway to serene wilderness of The Last Frontier. No stranger to struggle, the city on the edge of the world is about to become even more isolated.

When a plague strikes, Anchorage becomes a deadly trap for its citizens. The only two land routes out of the city are cut, forcing people to fight or die as the infection spreads.

Danny and Jules, just children, witness the beginning stages of the pestilence. Neil watches helplessly from his office cubicle as Midtown is ravaged. Dr. Caldwell attempts to flee the madness of Providence Hospital, the epicenter of the outbreak. The lives and survival of these few become intertwined in the aftermath of the onslaught. Coming together as strangers, they begin to form stronger bonds--even as hope slips away and they realize there may be no rescue coming.

    Crystalstar's Den

Crystals hang at the top. A nest made up of swan feathers and rabbit skin lay in the back left corner. In the right corner a crystal waterfall flows into a crystal pool in the right back corner. And the right side of the den is a mirrior. Next to it is a crystal statue of herself. Her pet crystal cobra, Boo, sleeps next to her

Zombie apocalypse that doesn't gloss over the true horror such as would occur should it really happen.

So many books of the zombie genre, offer a gruesome perspective of the end, but they usually neglect the true horror that would arise would something such as this occur. This is the first title in a series that has 2 already released with one due out later this year. In it, you follow a group of survivors as they try to make sense of what initially started with a bite a young boy recieved from a man frozen in ice that had re-animated. Rushed to the hospital by hisconcerned parents, the boy dies, re-animates, and begins to spread the virus which spreads like wildfire throughout Alaska. A few survivors from the hospital bandtogether and after getting supplies from a fred meyers where their group picks up more people, they take refuge in a house until forced to evacuate for safer grounds. In their search for safety; they meet humans who have changed, not from the infection, but rather their own personal demons. Rather than weakening the group, the survivors pull together no matter what sites they face from zombie hoards, dregs on mankind, to discovering the gruesome acts of violence zombie feedings left behind that so many other books leave out. We all know children are going to be targeted, but to read about the bloody carseat with bloody spiderman rainboots or the hello kitty suitcase sitting near a small pile of bloody clothes in an eerily quite, desolate neighborhood. It adds a more realistic element that'll make you want to hug your kids closer at night before tucking them in. A really good book, and like I'd mentioned there is a second one already out that I enjoyed even more than the first. Now I just can't wait until the next title is released later this year.

    Good read

234 pages. Well written and a little different. No ultimate warroirs with unlimited ammo. Good job at passing on the fear and 2nd guessing your desicions. Well worth the time.
