Overview

Robert Mazur spent five years undercover infiltrating the criminal hierarchy of Colombia's drug cartels. The dirty bankers and businessmen he befriended-some of whom still shape power across the globe- knew him as Bob Musella, a wealthy, mob-connected big shot living the good life.

Together they partied in $1,000-per-night hotel suites, drank bottles of the world's finest champagne, drove Rolls-Royce convertibles, and flew in private jets. But under Mazur's Armani suits and in his Renwick briefcase, recorders whirred quitely, capturing the damning evidence of their crimes. Then, at a staged wedding, he led a dramatic takedown that shook the underworld In the end, more than eighty men and women were charged worldwide. Operated C-Chase became one of the most successful undercover operations in the history of U.S. law enforcement, and evidence gathered during the bust proved critical to the conviction of General Manuel Noriega.

    What a great read!

I was raised in a law enforcement household and yet had no clue as to the scope of the drug trade or money laundering business. Still not that clear on the whole money laundering thing, there are so many people and so much money changing hands and so many dirty bankers that it must have taken a long time to have become that familiar with the inner workings of the cartel.
Not a book I would have been drawn to and only read it initially because my father is a friend of Mr Mazur's, but I sure did enjoy it and hope he writes another one about his adventures in Panama. Anyone that reads this book will really enjoy his writing style and the humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am sorry that I'm done with it (my housework, daughters and husband have been neglected long enough.)

    inCREDIBLE!

quick review. the story of an undercover agent who took down money launderers who supported drug cartels to the tune of trillions of dollars. insane. it is also very well written. i dont think i slept for the 5 days i read this. it was just there in the bookstore with the new non fic books. i dont know how i came to pick it up but i'm glad i did. in honesty, it leaves me appalled that governments (including ours)could be so irresponsible... in my estimation, as culpable as those who carry out these dastardly deeds. go get it!

This guy is the real deal.

Having worked with the author on an actual criminal case, I can report that he has one of the finest investigative minds I have encountered in 30 years as a criminal defense attorney. Bob Mazur is the real deal. After working with him first hand, seeing him in action and knowing of the incredible investigation he spearheaded, I bought the book before the ink dried.

    The Infiltrator

Amazing....Thank God that there are still true American heroes like Robert Mazur and his family. A cold reminder of what is really going on around the globe that threatens our basic freedoms by those who have no conscience, morals, or respect of human life, other than their own.
    Truely a "need to read."

    A Terrific Book

The author grabs you at the beginning and doesn't let go. He was a US Customs Special Agent who went undercover in an attempt to get inside the world of drugs and money laundering. You are with him as he develops his undercover identity, as he sets up his support system, and as he gets inside the top level drug cartels and the world money men. He does a great job of educating the reader about the inside mechanics of that world and shares the details of how he took them down. It is really a great story and tremendously interesting.
