Overview

The Infracom! label is the brainchild of German DJs and producers Jan Hagenkoetter and Name Leonhard-Vaughn, who decided to get into the club music business in 1994 and subsequently helped to create and deliver work by such eminent artists as Jazzanova, Kruder & Dorfmeister, and Soulpatrol. This is the first domestically released mix CD from Infracom!, and it features a set spun by Michael Rutton, half of the Soulpatrol duo and an established DJ in his own right. The mood tends to swing back and forth between smooth down-tempo grooves (Phoneheads' "Maracanenses," Kosma's "Odessa") and percolating Latin beats (Hacienda's "Working Class Glamour," Soul Patrol's "Love Variations Pt. 1") with occasional forays into deep house and techno, and the result is surprisingly satisfying. Would that all club mix CDs maintained interest so consistently.
