About the Author

Anne Sahingoz is an Indigenous writer and educator, whose work is rooted in cultural resurgence, and community healing. Guided by the rhythms of land and language, writing through poetry and prose explores themes of identity, belonging, ceremony, and intergenerational wisdom. Drawing on lived experience, traditional teachings, and a deep respect for the natural world.

Arizona Smith crafts stories that serve as both testimony and medicine. He is a member of the Ohio Valley Native American Veteran Warrior Society, and is an active storyteller at many of the powwows throughout Kentucky.

Both Anne Sahingoz and Arizona Smith believe in storytelling as ceremony—a way to restore, reconnect, and reimagine. They continue to live, learn, and write within community, honoring the sacred responsibilities of being a witness, a bridge, and a beacon for future generations.
