5 Stars for Inner Core I loved this book. Let me tell you I was reeling at the end of Layers wondering what was gonna happen for Hayley and Daniel and the best thing about this book is it literally picks up right where we left off. My only problem with this book was that Hayley disappointed me. In the first book she was a total bad ass chick and in this one she was more whiney and wishy/washy for me. I get that the bombshell Daniel dropped, which I had not expected, would be enough to gut me. I wanted more details as to when everything happened, immediately after he felt betrayed in the first book or after she turned him down when he came to her. If it was the former, he really pissed me off, if it was the latter then I am only upset with his poor decision. But once they decide to go on from there, she needed to get past all her insecurity and embrace that beautiful specimen of a man that loved her. OMG, who wouldn't want what she got for her birthday, oh right, Hayley. Crazy girl. Even though it takes an almost tragedy, at least she gets her head out of her behind.  Despite that, I still cannot say all the wonderful parts about this book. I love Tasha, and well Ian, he is the best. "Do you know that awkward moment when you see someone so hot you actually reach your hand to touch him and you're blocked by the mirror."  Top off Ian's humor with Daniel's amazingness(yes I know that is not a word, but he deserves it) and you have a book that deserves to be read!!! I only wish there was more!!!

Inner Core by Sigal Ehrlich is the second book in her Stark series. Picking up from the heartbreaking cliffhanger of book one, Layers, this book also manages to maintain a steady-pace as we watch our two beloved characters steadily and repeatedly keep getting in their own way. Hayley and Daniel keep getting side-swiped by circumstances. He wants her to move in, she's not ready, Ian gets booted out and needs to stay with Hayley so she ends up moving in with Daniel anyway. And so on and so forth. Daniel starts acting shady like he's trying to tell Hayley something but keeps NOT telling her. It seems really shady... Thankfully we end with a Happily Ever After. The writing style is well-balanced between inner monologue and descriptions and not over done. The characters are ones you WANT to get to know better.

A Lovely Read With Great Besties and A Hunky Hero!  4 Smiling, Pretty Stars! The Review:  Though I liked book one, Layers, I felt it lacked a certain emotional aspect that kept me from rating it over 3.5 stars. I have to say that though there were some things in Inner Core I still wanted to put in my wish list, it was a definitely a big step up with great writing and a great, romantic story. Story... When we left off in Layers, Hayley and Daniel had a falling out and though they were on the road to reconciliation, they still had much to think about and much to work through. Daniel comes to Hayleys rescue with information about her lost brother who they were awaiting news from when we left them in book one. He and Hayley reconnect but its far from smooth sailing and with Hayley building walls and hiding behind her fears and Daniels having an explosive secret that might just tear them apart for good, they have to find the love they feel for each other that seems to keep getting buried under all the drama.  Characters... In the first book, I kept looking for more from Daniel. I love a complicated, angsty hero but if you’re looking for a complex alpha male with a deep darkness, this won't be the read for you. I went into book one thinking that’s what I was in store for and I think that’s where my disappointment came from. But in this book, Daniel steps up and even though he did something hurtful, he truly cared for Hayley and showed her on multiple occasions how deep his feelings went. His past is a bit traumatic but he’s trying to work through those events that created him to be the kind of man who can have a healthy relationship. I found him to be more layered and real in this book which made me one happy reader! As for Hayley... well, I really liked her character in book one, but this go around I wanted to throttle her. Her indecisiveness caused a lot of pain and heartache where I didn’t think there needed to be any. She wasn’t my favorite character this go around and I really disliked her “all about me” attitude with Daniel. He was hurting too and though she acknowledged it internally, her actions spoke volumes about how mistrustful she was. It was disappointing seeing as how in book one she was this strong presence. I wish Hayley had retained her spunky, devil may care attitude but she seemed to subcome to the drama and wallow a bit. And the worse part was, it was of her own making. But I can also say her resistance added a strong amount of drama and it worked overall. But for me, though the romance was nice, the friendship between Hayley, Ian and Tasha is what raised this book above the bar. I loved their dialogue, their interactions and their creative and snarky banter. These three were hilarious and united. Loved them! I loved the ending and the events that unfolded during the climax. It was well written and emotionally charged. And lastly, the best part of this book was the fantastic Epilogue that wraps everything up so nicely with a lot of flair and fun.  And Of Course, My Wish List... There were a few moments when the book seemed to drag. Not much was happening and just like with book one, I kept expecting something, anything to happen during those moments. There seemed to be a buildup and a bit of suspense in the works but then nothing dramatic would actually happen. I don't know if the pacing was off or the story lost direction, but the middle lagged for me. And during the climax of the book, I sooooo wanted a Daniel POV! Maybe if we beg hard enough, the author will give us a novella??? *bats lashes and wields my most sincere puppy dog eyes* The Wrap Up:  Even with my “wish list” and Hayley’s character turn, I still really enjoyed this great read. What these two books are, is a sweet, sometimes angsty, but always smile-worthy romance that will keep you entertained. I'm looking forward to seeing what this author comes up with in the future. Note: Inner Core is book two in the Stark series and is an Adult, Contemporary Romance written by Sigal Ehrlich. I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review through Xpresso Book Tours.

Inner Core starts right where Layers left off. Hayley is back at her parents' house facing the uncertainty of her brother's whereabouts and the certainty that she may have lost Daniel for good. She knows they both handled their argument poorly and although she hesitates, she does take that first step to reach out to him. Unfortunately, the phone calls ends abruptly leaving both longing for the other. Once again Sigal Ehrlich immerses the reader into Daniel and Hayley's story head-on. Immediately, I found myself dealing with feelings of betrayal from both Daniel and Hayley. Since he is not the type to trust easily, this situation affected him deeply. In the same manner, Hayley feels betrayed that Daniel would disregard her integrity and question her loyalty to him. Emotions are running rampant, doubts are still present and fear of rejection and commitment make themselves known. What doesn't waver, however, is the depth of their connection and the magnitude of their attraction. Once reunited all these elements come into play and mixed with some humor, great secondary characters and sizzling chemistry, Sigal Ehrlich delivers a wonderful conclusion in Daniel and Hayley's love story. I loved this couple because they felt real and although they both had issues, they weren't over-the-top or unjustifiable. I fell in love with the brooding side of Daniel just as much as I adored his tender, honest one. He fell and he fell hard and although he made mistakes he never wavered in his priority, which was to love Hayley as best he could and make her happy in the process. And although Hayley had her doubts she never once questioned their connection or the depth of her feelings for Daniel. Again, their struggles were real-life ones and that was what made this such an enjoyable read for me. From the addition of the secondary characters, the intensity of Daniel and Hayley's attraction and the depth of their emotions, Inner Core, the final chapter in Daniel and Hayley's story, was a fantastic read. If you like your romance to be different but real, with characters you can connect to and secondary characters that complement the story but don't take way from its main focus, then the Stark books are for you. Inner Core is not a standalone, so go ahead and pick up your copy of Layers and immerse yourself in Daniel and Hayley's sometimes tumultuous, but always engaging love story. *I received and ARC copy of this title in exchange of my honest opinion
