More About This Book

Overview

Encounters of the 1st kind are sightings of alien presences. Encounters of the 2nd kind are physical signs of alien visitation. Encounters of the 3rd kind are first meetings/contact with alien beings. Encounters of the 4th kind are sexual relations with alien beings. Archaeologists, sexy Aliis and Dree (along with J(AI)' their voyeuristic artificial intelligence) have discovered a world formerly owned by a sex-industry giant, where sex-toys had been created, developed and grown for commercial sale. Disguised as a local Dree enters a large settlement and follows two women who casually have sex on a caf-terrace and invite him to join. Meanwhile, Aliis encounters an amphibian enclave and meets an empathic/telepathic woman who seduces Aliis, using her psychic abilities so that both pick up on the sensations that the other is feeling. And even the artificial intelligence J(AI)? continues to grapple with his emergent sexuality and has a breakthrough first orgasm. But none of the three realize they are being observed from a mysterious temple watched by a thirty thousand year old android whose explosive secrets could transform their lives and galactic civilization as well. Don't miss Ford Allen's profound exploration of human sexual nature, genetic manipulation, rights of cloned and genetically modified life forms, and the ethics of commerce, sex-slavery, sexual politics and racial integration.

Make no mistake, the overview doesn't do this work justice.  The three volumes run to over 600 pages of really outstanding science fiction.  There is enough time for the characters to become people and the plot and detail of the world and universe they are working in are rich in detail.  The third book contains the ending and I found myself wanting more.  Really a good read.
