My professional career started with both a B.S. in Rehabilitation Education, and a Master's of Education in Counselor Education. Professional Nursing was a career change for me. In 1981, I first entered Nursing School and graduated with a B.S. degree. In 1984, I graduated with honors and started my career in a busy Intensive Care Unit. Throughout my career, I have advanced my education to achieve a Master's Degree in Nursing, with the Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner title being the focus of my training, and a Post Graduate certificate in Business Administration.
In my 26 years of Professional Nursing, most of it has been in an ICU setting, with part-time experiences in Hospice, Home Care, Retail Health, Family Practice, Rural Health, and Internal Medicine.
I have served on various committees, published several articles, and wrote a chapter for a book, which unfortunately was never published due to lack of funding.
I have experienced Nursing as a front-line worker, as a patient, and as management.
