More About This Book

Overview

Small town police Chief, Terry Chagford is dying . . . of fright. The evil he thought he'd destroyed when he burned down the old Victorian house on the edge of town is back and it's after him. . . but not only him. It also wants Martin Welliver, the World Trade Center survivor he'd dragged from a car in the river not long before. Welliver, in an unfortunate twist of fate, bought the house hoping to find peace and quiet from a violent and uncaring world only to act as a conduit to revive the evil waiting for someone like him to give it life. But what do the Mah Jong tiles and dreams of murder have to do with it all? What's the link between the house and the old woman with the Mah Jong tile bracelet? Chagford is a man riddled with personal demons. With his growing thirst for alcohol, increasing dependence on pain killers and bouts of crippling depression, could it be that it's all just the terrifying sum of his crumbling mind? And why can he not get it out of his mind?

    Great Read!

I haven't enjoyed a horror novel this much in years. The characters are memorable, and the plot development is perfect -- not too slow or too fast. The writer doesn't insult the reader's intelligence with contrived scare tactics or cliched situations.

All and all, this novel compares favorably to those of any of the best-selling horror writers. It is definitely worth buying!

I had the pleasure of reading this when it first came out. It is a rollercoaster ride from the beginning till the end...! i cant say it enough -- get yourself a copy of this book. It is fantastic! It has more unexpected twists and turns than the scariest ride!! i loved it and i highly, highly recommend it!!

    Thriller suspence novel

The book I found to be a truly fascinating novel. Malones ability to build a character base with such depth was intriguing. I felt like I could feel their pain and anxiety. He paints a beautiful picture of a small town life with all its hidden, unknown and often questionable secrets. He exposes an often overlooked segment of society that feeds off of the pain of others while revealing its timelessness. I look forward to reading his next ¿novel¿, I choose novel because Inside a Haunted Mind fits the bill. He truly hit the mark.
