Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

This deluxe official companion book contains hundreds of color photographs that display the Game of Thrones' numerous sets, costumes, storyboards, and plot lines. Obviously a labor of love, Inside HBO's Game of Thrones was born to cherished.

From the Publisher
"For anyone yet to read Martin's novels, the book is a godsend. For all its epic brilliance, Game Of Thrones' multiple complex story threads can leave you befuddled, but thanks to profiles of the major characters, family trees and more, you soon know how to tell a Greyjoy from a Tyrell.

The book's also a solid 'Making Of'. Author Bryan Cogman (a story editor on the series) has interviewed the show's key creative forces, and between them they reveal the attention to detail that's gone into realising the Seven Kingdoms. Particular focus is given to pivotal scenes like the storming of King's Landing, and it's here - when things get properly geeky - that the book's at its best."
-SFX

"For the most part, people who watch and adore HBO's adaptation of author George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones saga (released in book form via the A Song of Fire and Ice series) do so largely, though still pleasantly, in the dark. Give any random viewer a pop quiz with questions about which character belongs to which family, and how to spell characters' names, and the grades would be sub-par at best. Thankfully, the dense story lines are much easier to sift through and grasp thanks to Inside HBO's Game of Thrones. Combining in-depth cast and crew interviews with Martin's own insight, it's 192 pages of Westeros overload, perfect for a few months of catching up and/or refreshing before the show returns for its third season"

    Great Pictures

GoT fans will enjoy this book. It didn't "translate" to the Nook format as well as I would have liked, considering the cost. A number of sentences/paragraphs were garbled and/or out of place. But the photos are great and I enjoyed the "inside" look at how the series is made.

I love this book! I have finished all the GoT books and recently started the series, and this boo is an amazing guide to the series. I would  HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is just starting the television series or is already an avid fan. Definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made.

    I own a hardcopy

Essentially a picture book with basic facts about the series with a few HBO actor /production stories thrown in the mix. It is a beautifully done book for what it is, which is a coffee table book. Beautiful fonts and print details, very basic family trees on the major Houses that have featured on TV so far in the series.

    Beautiful Book

Gorgeous photos, luxurious cover, looks expensive . Tells all the basics for GOT. The book doesn't go in depth so if you're expecting more you'll be disappointed. Great gift idea or add to your GOT collection.
