Publishers Weekly - Publisher's WeeklyWouk's 1985 saga is a social comedy of Jewish-American life reaching from New York to Jerusalem and spanning much of the 20th century. (Nov.)
Library JournalThese four novels, initially released in 1947, 1948, 1985, and 1962, respectively, run a wide path through Wouk's career, including his first novel, Aurora Dawn. Unlike his usual fare, several of these are comical in nature while capturing the human element with literary verve. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.

Why is this book NOT available on Nook????
Outstanding book. Simply outstanding.
The theme of schism and conflict is one that most people can identify with. This one got into my head a little. I suppose it helped that it is quite an amusing book as well. It is a true treasure and one you should read.
this is the best book about jews by a jew that i have ever read. Wouk is a true master. Written with love for his people.the comic situations are deftly delivered.
This is easily Herman Wouk's best book so far. It is both funny and serious, and very enlightening, all at once. It is a combination of Chaim Potok and Leon Uris as far as the plot goes, with a few comedians helping them with the tone. I recommend it to people from all backgrounds.
