Insight: The Insight Seriesby Jamie Magee

Some say that dreams are the doorway to the soul. Willow Haywood is no stranger to that doorway. Each night she shares a blissful, silent dream with a stunning blue-eyed boy. With each new moon she is haunted by a painful nightmare shared with a different boy, who's always hidden by the shadows.
In her waking hours she must battle her sixth sense. The one that allows her to feel others emotions as if they were her own. This insight is exhausting and frustrating causing her to draw inward, only trusting her family and few close friends. Oddly, this sense also attracts ghostly images that seem to appear out of nowhere. With a touch, they take her to wherever they may be, allowing her to change their emotion. This alone would cause most to go insane, but Willow filters her aggression by painting, capturing the emotion she changed.
One August night a nightmare came days after the new moon. In this dream the shadowed boy marked her wrist with star, leaving her father no choice but to share a family secret that would tie all of the odd attributes of Willow's life together. Now, she has no choice but to outrun the fate that is closing in around her.
In an attempt to lure her, the shadowed figure captures her closest friends. In order to save them, she must weave through broken myths, half truths, and the undeniable power of the Zodiac. With each step she takes Willow comes to realize that she has lived before, her path is one that she chose, and this trial is simply the beginning.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed. I don't often get surprised in a book (read too much) but I was surprised by a twist in this book. Looking forward to the next in the series.
The characters were made to make the reader fall in love with them. Even the people that has bad attentions are loveable. I fell in love with each and every character, may it be good or bad. Willow is a character that makes me want to save her. She touched my heart and I wanted to take all her pain away and never let her lose anyone in her life. The story line starts off slow. The detail build-up for the reader to understand and know the characters makes it feel like the reader is in a sand pit falling with no help insight. By Chapter ten, it hits the action enough to cover up the story line, but then the story line falls back to the sand pit. It is a slow moving read. This book, to me is an emotional roller coaster of the story line slowing down and speeding up through out the book. It has its high and low spots, but the story line does move through out the book. I rate this book a three star review due to the story line roller coaster, but the rest of the book was worth a four star review. It had great characters, but the dialog and information weighed the book down with details.
I got this book for free on the Amazon kindle and man was I hooked. I could not put this book down. The typical bad guy you can't hate in those book you have to love him. I love the paranormal aspect to the book. After reading this book be prepared to buy the whole series it is just that good.
I really enjoyed it, I hope there is a lot more to come in the series, I didn't want to put it down.
