Meet the Author

Marie French began making healing and spiritual art when her daughter was born three months prematurely and each piece she made was a sort of prayer. She began making similar pieces for others and eventually began selling her work. Before long she was giving workshops in stores, schools and libraries as well as art council workshops. Her exhibit "Prayers for Peace" was given a favorable review by the New York Times. Marie has been published in Somerset Studio, Belle Armoire, Haute Handbags, Altered Couture and she has also done styling work for Folio magazine.

It's gitched as of 6-2-12. It only loads the first 28 pages. Customer Service is aware ot the problem and working to correct the issue.

As someone who loves instilling meaning into any creative endeavor, I loved what I learned in this book about the possibilities to create jewelry pieces that heal. A key is provided for each project, explaining the intent of each element and additional ideas are included for personalizing your own piece, whether it's with color, symbolism, particular metal or other natural material. I also loved the sidebar extras that offered recipes for herbal teas and other wellness tips.

if you are a very creative person, you may find value in having this book around to kick start you into beginning a project. i would venture to say that even if you are inspired by some of the author's pieces, you will wind up making something that you didn't see in the book itself. it is an entertaining read, and the photography is very nice.

This my second review, the first one didn't show up. This book opens and you can go through a few pages, then WHAM it force closes. I have attempted to resolve with BN customer service but they do not follow through with it. Too bad, it looks like a great book :(
