Instant Persuasion: How To Change Your Words To Change Your Life

I read this book and thought it was good. Then over the next few days, a strange thing happened. I started to notice that lots of people make the communications blunder identified in Instant Persuasion. And most of these people are very good at pissing people off. The book sort of came to life... So, I went back and re-read the book so I could learn to avoid these blunders. My life has truly gotten better - less conflict, more friends and better workplace relationships. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to make some quick and lasting improvements in their life.

Instant Persuasion: How To Change Your Words To Change Your Life

This book is a gem! I found out about it from my wife. It's the most informative and practical guide to communication I've ever read. Through real-life stories it shares the communication blunders to avoid and wonders to use to win people over and get the appreciation you deserve (with honesty and integrity). This is the only book that helped me improve my people skills in minutes. It really works (and my wife will attest to this - even she likes me more after I started using the Instant Persuasion skills).

Instant Persuasion: How To Change Your Words To Change Your Life

Just finished reading this book and I definitely recommend it! Laurie Puhn shows us how to communicate well with family, friends and co-workers with many examples of situations that we deal with on a regular daily basis. I had a lot of 'A-Ha!' moments while reading it, as in 'so that's how you handle that situation'. If you want to learn how to deal with people in a kinder and more honest way, then read this book--It's not just for Salespeople or other professional people--It's a book for Everyone!!

Instant Persuasion: How to Change Your Words to Change Your Life

This book is the most practical and informative book I've read all year. The author doesn't write in generalities, the Harvard lawyer Puhn gives us solutions to common problems. Her advice applies to our daily conversations and helps us win people over and get the respect and appreciate we deserve. I had no idea how blunders I was making until I read this book! Now that I've fixed my mistakes, I'm getting along better with everyone in my life (including my boss).

Instant Persuasion: How to Change Your Words to Change Your Life

This book is the most informative and practical book on persuasion that I've read all year. It offers specific communication skills you can begin using immediately to influence people and reduce conflict. Best part is that the rules are based on speaking with honesty and integrity, so the more you use the rules, the better you feel about yourself.

    Misleading Title

Persuasion: (def) communication intended to induce belief or action. This book is not about that. While the book is well written and all its suggestions are sensible, the title and sales copy lead you to expect something quite different that what the book actually delivers. Similar to Dale Carnegie, it deals in maintaining good social relationships through common sense and courtesy.

    A new Dale Carnegie

Instant Persuasion is a modern-day 'How to Win Friends and Influence People.' It offers clever real-life anecdotes in addition to the exact words you should say to win people over in every day conversations. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who wants an easy way to strengthen their relationships and get ahead at work.

    Excellent for Business People

This book was brilliant. While I was embarrassed to start reading it, I couldn't put it down after the first few chapters. Also makes you realize how many small things we do that we could do differently to impress people and connect with them. This book is like 'The Tipping Point' for social situations and personal relationships i.e., really interesting insights into how humans interact and respond to one another. Last, its very useful for business. In my experience it has helped me work more effectively with other team members, both senior and junior, and I felt I owed it to the author and this book to convey that to others debating whether to buy this great book.

    Instant Fan!

I've been lucky to see Ms. Puhn explain her 'Instant Persuasion' method at one of her public speaking engagements. She makes the 'rules' of honest communication and mediation easy to understand, and guides you through several real life applications in a fun and approachable way. 'Instant Persuasion' has helped me with relationships both professional and personal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her book to anyone looking to connect with others more effectively.
