As an education professor, I have used this book in many of my courses to assist teachers in learning to plan using backward design. This is one of the best texts helping teaching candidates to understand that differentiation of instruction is not an add-on, but should be incorporated into planning. This text gives teaching candidates clear insight into the basic principles behind effective unit and lesson planning. It is reader-friendly and clearly written. This text is a must for any teacher's professional library.
