Purpose: The purpose is to present the philosophy and methodology needed to enable a group of professionals to cooperate as a cohesive team. No other text has presented total and equal integration of all disciplines in dentistry.
Audience: Every possible member of an IDT team (orthodontist, pedodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist, prosthodontist, endodontist, restorative dentist, lab technician, etc.) could benefit from this book.
Features: The overall appearance of the book is very good. The reader can find excellent quality of colored illustrations along with very informative tables.
Assessment: Extensive information about the IDT approach is available, including preliminary therapy, diagnosis, treatment planning, definitive therapy, and maintenance. Also there is a separate chapter about the complexity and difficulty in developing and maintaining an interdisciplinary team. For a team like this, the philosophy and methodology necessary to establish and manage the ideal approach to dentofacial therapy is described. This book should be read by any dentist who is interested in improving the quality of patient care using the IDT concept.
