Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Warbirds and International Warbirds should be considered for any general interest library with aviation traffic."

-

Library Journal

"This work will serve as a useful introduction to those desirous of learning more about twentieth-century military aircraft produced by nations besides the United States. Entries on individual aircraft are succinct and easy to read … International Warbirds is recommended for public and academic libary collections on military aviation."

-

American Reference Books Annual

Library Journal
In this companion volume to Warbirds (LJ 11/15/99), which cataloged U.S. military aircraft, Fredricksen examines aircraft from the rest of the world. Thousands of aircraft have been built or adapted to military purposes, and the author has chosen carefully from the utterly obscure to the world-renowned to represent, in over 300 examples, the variety of machines in military use through the years. This second volume, again written for the casual investigator, includes a black-and-white photo and a short history for each aircraft and fills in the spaces with the same thorough resource lists to help students of aviation to expand their knowledge. The benefit of this approach, when aimed at the researcher having only a passing acquaintance with aeronautics, is that one can delve as deeply as necessary with only this volume, and its companion, as a start. The pair should be considered for any general interest library with aviation traffic. Mel D. Lane, Sacramento, CA Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
