Material is presented in tables arranged in two parts, the first dealing with the manufacturing sector as a whole, and the second consisting of a series of country/area-specific data. coverage includes leading producers of such products as food and beverages, tobacco, textiles, paper, rubber and plastic products, and transport equipment, to name but a few. The share of females in total employment is shown for about 40 countries. Data for some 75 countries is presented, and a chart of countries not covered in this edition cites the latest edition in which they were covered. To facilitate the comparability of data over time and across countries, UNIDO has supplemented originally reported data with information obtained from various other sources such as industrial censuses and statistics from national and international organizations.
