Meet the Author

Christopher Dawson grew up in Seattle, back in the days of pre-antitrust Microsoft when coffee shops were owned by someone other than Starbucks, and when really loud inarticulate music reigned. Chris escaped to the right coast in the early 1990s, where he received a degree in Information Systems from Johns Hopkins University. While there, he began a career in health and educational information systems. Positions at Johns Hopkins, a large biotech company in Cambridge, his own consulting business, and several years of teaching and managing technology in his local school district all prepared Chris for his most recent venture as Vice President of Marketing for WizIQ, a virtual classroom and learning network company. In addition to this professional role, Mr. Dawson writes extensively for ZDNet (the business technology news website published by CBS interactive) where he has functioned as anchor blogger for years, addressing educational and web technologies. Chris lives with his wife, five children, and various critters in a small town in north-central Massachusetts.
