Meet the Author

One of America's most read and celebrated authors, Anne Rice is known for weaving together the visible and supernatural worlds in epic stories that both entertain and challenge readers. Anne's life experiences and intellectual inquisitiveness provide her with constant inspiration for her work. She has written over thirty novels and one autobiography. Her books are rich tapestries of history, belief, philosophy, religion, and compelling characters that examine and extend our physical world beyond the limits we perceive. She lives and works in California.

Ashley Marie Witter was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, and she went to the Madison Area Technical College, where she was a student of Mark A. Nelson (Aliens, Dark Horse Comics) and earned her associates degree in Animation and Conceptual Development. After experimenting a bit with web comics like Reign of Adeodatus and Scorch, she later contributed to a comics anthology called The Eternal Sad (Gothology). Building a name for herself in the Madison art scene through gallery shows and working on commissions to pay the bills, Ashley was just saying to herself, "I need a real job!" when she received an e-mail from Yen Press the following day.

I despise these free preview things. Either give us the entire thing free or charge us for it, but stop wasteing our time and space with this free preview crap.

Did not realize this was like a comic book. I like the artwork but it is hard to read the words. I was hoping to read an actual novel about Claudia. So a little dissapointed. They should tell you this in the discription. I am still giving 4 stars because I love the art.

Didn't realize it was a comic. Glad it was a free preview. I could not see the words at all on my Nook. But the art/drawings were nice.

I like that they adapted a classic novel into a graphic novel with such beautiful flowing art. It is a preview however so keep that in mind but a good read nonetheless.

When you first read that sentence (if you are a fan of Anne) it instantly transfixes you and you absolutely have to see what claudia has to say. Well, needless to say, i had to buy this book! Upon purchasing and reading it, I was pretty disgusted. It's set up as a cartoon and in black and white! While the artwork was good the actual "story" was not. It left me with more questions than when I began! I love ms.. rice and thoroughly enjoy almost all of her books, this one fell flat. I hope she writes another book of claudia, in the same style as lestat. Save your money unless you want to just purchase it for the artwork.

This was more than a little disappointing. A small part of the movie made comic.

Beautifully illustrated and an interesting story from Claudia's point of view. Wish it was not just a preview...though I guess we know how the story ends :( Do not understand why everyone is complaining about the "comic" aspect of the novel. Guess they don't know what a graphic novel is....
