"Martin is superb." —RT Book Reviews

A bodyguard, a bounty hunter, a P.I.—the men of Brodie Operations Security Service, Inc. are down for the job. . .

Sinners, whores, and sluts beware—your time is at hand: a faceless menace is threatening lingerie models on a cross country tour, and Ethan Brodie is there to defend and protect.

Ethan's learned the hard way that beauty is no substitute for character. So even though Valentine Hart is one of the most breathtaking women he's ever seen, he's keeping his hands off and his eyes open. Or that's what he tells himself.

Then one of the models is murdered, and the closer Ethan gets to the answers, the closer he finds himself to Valentine—and the hotter the pressure feels. There's more to Val—more to the other girls—than he could have guessed. But one is keeping a secret that could kill them all.

Martin (Against the Tide) introduces the members of Seattle’s Brodie Operations Security Services (BOSS) in a choppily told romantic thriller about the fierce protectiveness that the strong, handsome heroes feel toward beautiful, complicated women. After the high-class models of LaBelle Lingerie receive threatening notes that escalate to an actual murder, Ethan Brodie takes on the 24/7 protection of model Valentine Hart. The two quickly ignore BOSS’s no-fraternization rule under the pressures of close proximity and strong attraction. Martin draws her characters with little moral ambiguity. Her reliable men of action put themselves out to take care of their families while saving their women from villains and sleazeballs; the women worry about the dangerous nature of BOSS’s work, but fidelity is never in doubt. Plot shifts and revelations are unsatisfyingly abrupt for those whose focus is on the mystery side of the story, and the lack of repercussions for breaking the company’s rules leaves the reader with a sense that the story has been streamlined at the expense of reality. I enjoyed reading Ethan and Val,s story. There was cheat from the get go. Mystery and romance through out the story. I liked that we got to catch up with Nick and Sam. All of the Brodie men are strong as are the women they choose. The characters are all very good looking but there is more to them then meets the eye. A fun read and I wanted to read more about Dirk and Meg and am so glad they are the stars of the next book! This book did not disappoint

Once again, an awesome story, big bulky men, beautiful strong women, enough mystery to keep you glued to the book. Looking forward to the next book!

4 stars! The first book in a new Kat Martin series!! The men of Boss, Inc. (Brodie Operations Security Service, Inc.) Ethan Brodie!!! A threatening note is delivered to a select set of top models at La Belle Lingerie, just as they readying for a nationwide tour. The ensuing result is need for a security detail to protect them. Bodyguards, not exactly what Ethan Brodie has in mind, but his cousin Ian is the boss and a contract has been struck. Valentine Hart, as it comes to light is actually a friend of the family, but with a no fraternizing clause in La Belle's contract Ethan has no worries besides, she's just some over-confident, self-centered model, right and a job is a job, but is it? The threats continue and murder follows, as crazed killer is on the loose and Ethan's protective instincts are running on overdrive, damn the rules, Valentine Hart is his and no one will come between them!

This book had me in it's sights from the cover alone. Great cover and synopsis. I was so looking forward to a great romantic suspense. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. I liked the characters a lot - both primary and secondary, but I never really connected with them in a way for me to be completely absorbed. I got the attraction between a few but couldn't wrap my head around an emotional connection with the info presented. Also disappointing for me, the story was a little too predictable - especially the suspense portion and given the background of the characters. Maybe I read too much and expected more than could be delivered in this instance. I would still suggest you read it for yourself. It was a good story with good characters. There are a lot of fans who thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I received an ARC copy via goodreads

The opening sentence in this book sets the stage for gripping suspense and action as well as a sweet romance and is an exciting start to the BOSS, Inc. series. Ethan Brodie's experience with his ex-girlfriend has soured him on the thought of relationships, especially with very beautiful and high maintenance women. When he takes on an assignment to provide security for lingerie models on the receiving end of death threats, Ethan's resolve takes a major hit once he sets his eyes on gorgeous model Valentine Hart and no matter how hard he tries, he can't fight his attraction to her. When one of the models is killed, Valentine's safety becomes Ethan's number one priority and not even the possibility of losing the security contract will keep him away from her. Valentine (aka Valerie Hartman) took on the modeling job to fund vet school, but she is in no way prepared for the cutthroat world of modeling and being the target of a deranged stalker. Even with their less than friendly start she trusts Ethan to keep her safe, but she can't wait to finish out her contract. Unfortunately for Val, things are not going her way because her promotion to the position of the brand spokeswoman means she's getting drawn further into a web of deceit, danger and intrigue, and she'll need Ethan's skills to stay alive. I was eager to read this book from the very moment I saw the cover and I wasn't disappointed. The characters draw you in completely into the roller coaster ride of suspense, intrigue and even emotional entanglements. I enjoyed Val and Ethan and especially loved how Val kept him off balance. She is smart, strong and very assertive but she's also very aware of her limitations and is willing to let Ethan take the lead on keeping her safe. I loved Ethan's protectiveness of Val and that he realized how special she was without letting his past affect how he felt about her much. The suspense was well-written and kept me guessing the identity of the perpetrators, as well as their motives. Gunfights, action and sexy models make for interesting times in this this book. However, I have to say that the first part of the book dragged quite a lot for me and it took me a while to get through but once the action picked up, it was non-stop and kept me engrossed, with the added bonus of setting the scene for the next book in the series. I'll recommend this book to anyone who loves a blend of romantic suspense and contemporary romance. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I had the pleasure of reading Into the Fury by Kat Martin. In this book Ethan Brodie works for his family's security company in Seattle. He is assigned the task of protecting a bunch of lingerie models from a killer. Valentine Hart is one of the models and also a friend of the family. While protecting the models and especially Valentine, Ethan has to come to terms with the fact that maybe there is more to the models than just looks. Ethan struggles with his past in order to have a future that he wants. Valentine also has to come to terms with her past and what she wants for her future. Ethan and Valentine pair up to catch a killer after two different women are murdered in two different cities. This book is a wild ride and keeps you on your toes.

A fascinating, new spin-off series from Kat Martin, promising fast action, intense suspense, and burning-hot romance. It is easy to be immersed into a story, when it flows smoothly, had charismatic, likable cast of characters, and events that are interesting, filled with danger, steamy passion, and feelings that can't be fought off. The cast of characters is large, and at times it felt maybe a little too many people were introduced, with details not necessarily needed for the story. Also, there's a secondary romance going with another bodyguard, Dirk, and another model. I understand their story will be next in the series. This is just my preference, but I thought Meg and Dirk took some of the attention away from Val and Ethan. I missed the intensity from the author's previous books. I felt maybe this story was spread out too much, with multiple of characters. But the suspense was built well, keeping guessing the who and why until the very end. Until the second half of the story, the action happens somewhere else, giving time to get to know the characters, and get inside to the tale. Ethan and Val have an immediate attraction to each other. They do their best to fight it, not only, because it is in their contract not to have relations within the staff, but the danger of Ethan's job worries Val, and Ethan is burned out on women, after the way his daughter's mother has been acting for years. Hannah, the daughter is adorable, and completely steals the hearts of readers. The romance is built up well, with time, and the connection between Val and Ethan is obvious. Exciting new series to be followed, with appealing characters, alluring romance, and fierce action, the entertainment is guaranteed. ~ Four Spoons

Into the Fury by Kat Martin is book one in the new Boss trilogy. The main story line is that models for a lingerie company are being sent threatening notes. Brodie Operations Security Services, Inc., aka BOSS has been asked to provide additional security for the venue and the models. Ethan and his friend Dirk are assigned to the case. When someone is murdered the stakes get higher. As predicted Ethan and Dirk each fall for one of the models and violate the very strict policy of no relationships with the models. Kat did a good job of making the life of a model appear to be a tougher job than one would expect. However there were several scenes that were not realistic. Ethan and Dirk provide 24 hour protection for 2 of the 10 models. The others have a guard on the floor. The book was suspenseful with lots of sexual tension that overshadowed the investigation. Kat tried to make Valerie different than the other models. She is friends with Sam and she is working on her veterinary degree. This was not my favorite Kat book but if you are ok with your typical romance book where everyone is beautiful and perfect then you might enjoy it. Great New Series! This is a great book; this is the first book in the Boss series by Kat Martin. Ethan Brodie is an ex-cop and now works for his cousin who owns Brodie Operations Security Service, Inc. (BOSS, Inc.). Someone is threatening lingerie models on a cross country tour, is it Ethan’s job to defend and protect them. When one of the models is murdered he is determined to find the truth before someone else gets hurt. I am looking forward to the next book in this great series. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆ What man alive would not want to be the bodyguard for sexy, hot lingerie models? A man that has been betrayed by a beautiful woman and left with a hands off attitude toward all women, that’s who! In Kat Martin’s awe-inspiring new series BOSS, Inc. Book one, Into the Fury not only does Ms. Martin address that issue but she weaves a tale of romantic suspense that will keep you turning pages to find out what happens next. This novel is action packed, drama filled, sexually tense and in the end, a happy ending for our main characters. Valentine and Ethan are not your typical beautiful people and neither is their story! Ethan Brodie has had enough! His ex is giving him grief by keeping his precious daughter from him and refusing his parental rights out of nothing by vindictiveness. When he is assigned as bodyguard to a bunch of high maintenance women that have received death threats, he is not a happy man. However the more he observes and gets to know one certain model, Valentine Hart, the more he wonders if he may be wrong about her. She needed this job, it was her way to finish veterinarian school and follow her dream. When disturbing notes were sent to the top ten models of the agency she worked for, fear became a new accessory for her and nine other models. Ethan Brodie was hired to provide additional security and to find the culprit behind the threats. Val was instantly aware of the incredibly sexy man and it became hard to think of him as only someone hired to protect her. Can there be more for the bodyguard and the model? As the story unfolds and the danger escalates, the only thing that Val and Ethan can hold onto is each other. This is an excellent addition to my library and is a story you will not want to miss!

This is the first book in the BOSS series. Ethan has taken a job with his cousin’s security firm and is hired to guard some lingerie modes that are being threatened. Ethan meets Val one of the top models for the company and realizes there is more to her than just a pretty face. Even though there is a no fraternization rule the chemistry sizzles between Ethan and Val. Can he discover who wants these women dead? The story is fast paced and interesting the characters are good with plenty of depth. Lots of drama and suspense.

Into the Fury by Kat Martin is the first in a new series by her. It apparently is a spin-off from her previous Brodies of Alaska series. I haven't read that series yet; but I will be soon. The plot moved quickly with just enough twists and turns to keep me guessing almost until the end of the story. I enjoyed meeting all of the characters in this new series. They are all complex but very likeable. Valerie/Valentine was a really strong female character that I rooted for throughout the story. Ethan is your typical Alpha male hero; but when he is with his daughter, my heart just melted. The secondary love story in this book broke my heart because there wasn't an HEA for them. However, at the end of the book I read that Ms. Martin will be giving Dirk and Meg a second chance in book #2 of this series, Into the Whirlwind. I was provided an ARC by the publisher via NetGalley. Thank you, Kensington, for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Awesome read and a great beginning to a new series. It's a wonderful romance but it is filled with action and suspense as well. Great characters and pace make this one a must read! Ethan Brodie is all kinds of hot and can be my bodyguard anytime! He's an ex-cop working personal security now. His current assignment proves to be interesting indeed. Protecting lingerie models is tough duty and the no fraternization policy might prove to be a problem. Especially when it comes to Valentine Hart! With a psycho leaving notes containing death threats he can't afford to be distracted!! I highly recommend this one.

Having read and loved one of Kat Martin’s books previously I was eager to read this book. I was not quite as impressed with this story as I was with “Against the Tide” but wonder if that had to do with it being the first in a new series that required introduction of many characters or if it had to do with so much going on in the book that it sometimes seemed to drag a bit. Ethan’s expectations of Valentine Hart, a beautiful lingerie model were blown to smithereens as he got to know her better. Ethan, in charge of the security detail hired by La Belle, had the task of supervising a team of men working as security for the models. Val’s thoughts regarding Ethan were also challenged over time and she was also required to rethink a previous stance she took when a teenager. Ethan and Val were drawn to one another from the beginning but with a no-sex clause in their contracts to keep them apart it became interesting at times. In addition to the story of the beautiful models and hunky security team going on tour across the USA there was a murder and a mystery or two to solve before the end of the book. The introduction of Dirk and Meg was made as a prelude to the second book in this new series. I am looking forward to reading the second book as I liked the characters and the plot sounds intriguing. The story was interesting but I did not find anything new in the story and it had a LOT going on – perhaps more than one story should deal with to be as tight and concise as it needs to be to hold the full attention of the reader. That said…I enjoyed the book and do look forward to reading the next book in the series. I also was reading an ARC and wonder if there will be additional changes made before it is released. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy of this book to read and review. 3.5 Stars
