New York-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Laura Pergolizzi (LP) wisely opens this live EP with her signature track "Into the Wild." Most listeners will recognize the song's soaring chorus ("Somebody left the gate open"), which was used quite effectively in a 2011/2012 Citibank television commercial that resulted in a gold rush of internet hits for the critically successful yet relatively unknown ukulele-playing writer of hits for the likes of Heidi Montag, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera. Pergolizzi keeps up the momentum going throughout Into the Wild: Live at Eastwest Studios' five selections, hitting her stride on the gorgeous "Tokyo Sunrise," and bringing things to a typically melodic and satisfying end with the sweeping "Someday."

I had to get this CD/DVD after watching LP on Jimmy Kimmel and spending hours listening to her on youtube. You'll recognize her voice from the Citibank commercial where the woman climbs to the top of a pinnacle rock and this amazing voice bursts forth with "Into the Wild!" The CD/DVD combo is fantastic! 5 songs may not seem enough, but each one is so original and beatifully written and performed, you will play them again and again. LP (Laura Pergolizzi) has the most unique voice I've heard in ages. She's the anti-Gaga. The only choice is to close your eyes and listen to her mezmerizing voice on the CD, or put on the DVD and join in on the cool scene! Enjoy!
